Murtha says he thinks that “they” (apparently Murtha doesn’t consider himself a member of the country that’s at war in Iraq) have achieved “4 or 5” of the “17 or so guidelines” that need to be achieved in Iraq
The reality? Our nation set out 18 benchmarks for success in Iraq, and of those 15 have now been achieved
Discussion question: How scary is it that this guy, who clearly either has no idea at all what’s going on Iraq or knows but chooses to dishonestly ignore it, is a member of Congress?
Remember, Rep. Murtha was the guy Democrats chose to put on point when it came to Iraq policy circa 2005. Remember all those news stories about the “hawkish” Democrat who was now opposing the war? The liberal left put their faith in Murtha to lead them to a withdrawal from Iraq
That Murtha has been so horribly wrong about Iraq just shows how wrong the left in general has been about the war

I have been to Johnstown and I cannot understand how the good people of Western PA continue to elect this man. It must be all of the pork he brings.

I cannot imagine the things that come from this man’s mouth, is he totally nuts? I can’t believe the way he has stabbed in the back the men and women in uniform with his comments, and continues to do so when he is former military himself. Shades of Traitor Kerry with him, is there something in the water they drink?

I’m really not too surprised he’s toned it down after all the criticism he’s gotten but you’re right, it is a change.
I didn’t pick up much else that’s new from the video, most of it is the same old bilge he’s been spouting for two and a half years, the turkeys got a one track mind.

I agree completely and even some of his fellow RATS have distanced themselves from him but I think he’ll have to carried out of the House feet first for him to leave.
Personally, I find that his mere presence as a Pennsylvania politician extremely offensive!!
Someday soon we are just going to have to beg the Lord’s pardon and start doing what needs to be done.

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt but I can't think of anything good about people who would sell out our country in a time of war for money taken from their fellow citizens. May posterity forget that his supporters were our countrymen.
speaking of other sites, the guy over at icasualties.org is either taking a long vacation, or he’s gotten real discouraged he hasn’t had many U.S. deaths to celebrate, hasn’t even started a line for July yet.
