Washington D.C. - Today, Congressman Pearce responded to Tom Udall's reversal of his position opposing gun rights for individuals in the District of Columbia:
"It is breathtaking in its scope and intellectual dishonesty. Tom Udall has consistently opposed the rights of individuals to own guns and it is an outrage and an insult to the people of New Mexico for him to say otherwise.
"It is one thing to be wrong. It is another to be untruthful. The election is clearly having an impact and this flip flop is amazing."
Udall has voted against overturning DC gun laws and twice against allowing law abiding citizens in DC to possess firearms. He received a "D-" from the National Rifle Association and an "F" from the Gun Owners of America.
Here is Udall’s voting record. You decide whether we need another Senator with a record like this?

Steve Pearce, a conservative, won out against a moderate Republican. Here is Steve Pearce’s record:

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I don’t think they will. They have to get the message out. The good thing is Pearce is a fighter. He beat a more liberal Republican in her home turf so hopefully he can carry his conservative message home. What is interesting the more I go down the list is that the current slate of Republicans running for Senate is probably the most conservative I’ve seen in a long time. It is certainly a challenging political season but there are really stark contrasts between liberal and conservative in these races. I think conservatives will do better than expected this year. Somethings that bode well for them:
*A very liberal Obama running.
*Iraq is becoming a clear win.
*Energy favors conservative Republicans if they use it.(Drill Drill Drill!)
*Homosexual marriage in California offers an opportunity to hammer home the differences between parties.
*The economy and spending. The GOP has the opportunity to reclaim the mantel of fiscal responsibility with McCain running.
The issue profile is a good one for conservatives if they just run on principle and skewer their opponents on issue differences.
Because we all know the Bill of Rights was written to grant rights to state(s) instead of the citizens.
If these leftwing clowns read the first like they read the second, only churches would be afforded free speech.
