rising prices and a global shortage of provisions.

But yesterday the Prime Minister and other world leaders sat down to an 18-course gastronomic extravaganza at a G8 summit in Japan, which is focusing on the food crisis.

The dinner, and a six-course lunch, at the summit of leading industrialised nations on the island of Hokkaido, included delicacies such as caviar, milkfed lamb, sea urchin and tuna, with champagne and wines flown in from Europe and the U.S.

Yep this is funny, that they are gorging themselves while discussing food shortages.

Reminds me of the big carbon footprint that the Al Gore world wide concerts for global warming had. And the big carbon footprint his own house has.

And in other news, marriage counselors get divorced, psychiatrists have mental illness, dentists have cavities, plumbers have leaky pipes in their homes, and contractor’s wives can’t get them to remodel their own house.

‘It is deeply hypocritical that they should be lavishing course after course on world leaders when there is a food crisis and millions cannot afford a decent meal,’

And it is equally foolish to think that doing otherwise will change anything. When are these fools going to grow up? Will they ever value substance over symbols, and action over hollow rhetoric?

I'd love an 18 course banquet. But it would expand my waistline a tad too much.

Me too, I'd look like Al Gore. Did he fly in for a take out order?

But never mind that, if world leaders can fly around the world in their private jets to meet on saving the environment with a straight face, then they can have an 18 course meal on hunger.

A fine aged Monte de Ripple, 2009, and Epec’ le Choke of Whitecastles would be more appropriate.
And no, I didn’t read the whole article!
