Archbishop action forbidding Gay Pride Prayer Service at St. Joan’s applauded.

In a follow-up letter sent to Archbishop John Nienstedt at the Archdiocese of Saint Paul in Minneapolis, MN, author Ben D. Kennedy of MaidOfHeaven.com applauds Nienstedt’s action forbidding the Gay Pride Prayer Service that had been scheduled at the church. Kennedy had previously sent a letter to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church rebuking the congregation for “dishonoring and disgracing the name of Saint Joan of Arc.” In his letter to Archbishop Nienstedt, Kennedy also requested that the church be forced to change its name if they continued in their actions of “the linking of immoral sexual behavior, as defined by the Catholic Church, to the name of Saint Joan of Arc.” A copy of the letter is available online at: http://www.maidofheaven.com/sjoamn.asp

So to get around the ban this is what the freakshow did..with the help of the mayor:

Saying they don't want to go back in the closet, gay and lesbian Catholics and their supporters took their annual prayer service celebrating gay pride outdoors Wednesday night.

About 100 people marched from the parking lot to the front of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in south Minneapolis, where they celebrated a service officials from the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis had banned from the church itself.

Lucia Engelhardt, 2, was helping her sister Anna, 9, carry a sign reading "Gay love is not a mortal sin."

Their 7-year-old sister, Ingrid, also carried a sign supporting gays in the Catholic Church.

"We're here to support our gay friends," said their mother, Stephanie Vagle. "And to show our displeasure with the Catholic Church over this issue," their father, Bill Englehardt, quickly added.

The service, which was led by lay people, included readings, songs and prayer.

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, City Council Member Gary Schiff and state Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Minneapolis, also attended.

Everyone who participated and can be identified as a card carrying Catholic should be excommunicated.

These militant homosexuals are toying with God. And I have a feeling they’re not going to like it when God chooses to respond to their challenge.

From the same "parade" the mayor was marching in. Did he..I mean she..I mean "it" also accompany the mayor to the service held in front of the church?

As some church leadership commits suicide, it’s nice to see other faithful leaders step up to the plate and do their job.

Absolutely! Everyone they know was in that parking lot ought to be excommunicated pronto. That includes excommunicating the mayor and those Dem DFL's if they too are Catholic.

The Catholic Church needs to stand up to this moral outrage. It might be this issue, and the Catholic Church's firm stance on it, that may finally be the thing that causes me to join them.

From same parade that mayor walked in. Did he/she/it also appear with the mayor at the church to spite the Catholic Church?

Go here to see the mayor and his friends: at the parade Make sure to keep hitting "next" to see the types the mayor is allied with.

"Gay love is not a mortal sin."

"Gay" love isn't the issue.

The issue is "gay" sex.

Your post reminded me of a favorite quote of General James Robertson of the American Revolution:
“Man proposes, but God disposes.”
