15 Things You Should Know About "The Race"
TownHall.com ^ | 7/09/2008 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 07/08/2008 10:17:16 PM PDT by 2nd amendment mama

Only in America could critics of a group called "The Race" be labeled racists. Such is the triumph of left-wing identity chauvinists, whose aggressive activists and supine abettors have succeeded in redefining all opposition as "hate."

Both Barack Obama and John McCain will speak this week in San Diego at the annual conference of the National Council of La Raza, the Latino organization whose name is Spanish for, yes, "The Race." Can you imagine Obama and McCain paying homage to a group of white people who called themselves that? No matter. The presidential candidates and the media have legitimized "The Race" as a mainstream ethnic lobbying group and marginalized its critics as intolerant bigots. The unvarnished truth is that the group is a radical ethnic nationalist outfit that abuses your tax dollars and milks PC politics to undermine our sovereignty.

Here are 15 things you should know about "The Race":

15. "The Race" supports driver's licenses for illegal aliens.

14."The Race" demands in-state tuition discounts for illegal alien students that are not available to law-abiding U.S. citizens and law-abiding legal immigrants.

13. "The Race" vehemently opposes cooperative immigration enforcement efforts between local, state and federal authorities.

12. "The Race" opposes a secure fence on the southern border.

11. "The Race" joined the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in a failed lawsuit attempt to prevent the feds from entering immigration information into a key national crime database -- and to prevent local police officers from accessing the data.

10. "The Race" opposed the state of Oklahoma's tough immigration-enforcement-first laws, which cut off welfare to illegal aliens, put teeth in employer sanctions and strengthened local-federal cooperation and information sharing.

9. "The Race" joined other open-borders, anti-assimilationists and sued to prevent Proposition 227, California's bilingual education reform ballot initiative, from becoming law.

8. "The Race" bitterly protested common-sense voter ID provisions as an "absolute disgrace."

7. "The Race" has consistently opposed post-9/11 national security measures at every turn.

6. Former "Race" president Raul Yzaguirre, Hillary Clinton's Hispanic outreach adviser, said this: "U.S. English is to Hispanics as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks." He was referring to U.S. English, the nation's oldest, largest citizens' action group dedicated to preserving the unifying role of the English language in the United States. "The Race" also pioneered Orwellian open-borders Newspeak and advised the Mexican government on how to lobby for illegal alien amnesty while avoiding the terms "illegal" and "amnesty."

5. "The Race" gives mainstream cover to a poisonous subset of ideological satellites, led by Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA). The late GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood rightly characterized the organization as "a radical racist group … one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West."

4. "The Race" is currently leading a smear campaign against staunch immigration enforcement leaders and has called for TV and cable news networks to keep immigration enforcement proponents off the airwaves -- in addition to pushing for Fairness Doctrine policies to shut up their foes. The New York Times reported that current "Race" president Janet Murguia believes "hate speech" should "not be tolerated, even if such censorship were a violation of First Amendment rights."

3. "The Race" sponsors militant ethnic nationalist charter schools subsidized by your public tax dollars (at least $8 million in federal education grants). The schools include Aztlan Academy in Tucson, Ariz., the Mexicayotl Academy in Nogales, Ariz., Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School in St. Paul, Minn., and La Academia Semillas del Pueblo in Los Angeles, whose principal inveighed: "We don't want to drink from a White water fountain, we have our own wells and our natural reservoirs and our way of collecting rain in our aqueducts. We don't need a White water fountain … ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction."

2. "The Race" has perfected the art of the PC shakedown at taxpayer expense, pushing relentlessly to lower home loan standards for Hispanic borrowers, reaping millions in federal "mortgage counseling" grants, seeking special multimillion-dollar earmarks and partnering with banks that do business with illegal aliens.

1. "The Race" thrives on ethnic supremacy -- and the elite sheeple's unwillingness to call it what it is. As historian Victor Davis Hanson observes: "[The] organization's very nomenclature 'The National Council of La Raza' is hate speech to the core. Despite all the contortions of the group, Raza (as its Latin cognate suggests) reflects the meaning of 'race' in Spanish, not 'the people' -- and that's precisely why we don't hear of something like 'The National Council of the People,' which would not confer the buzz notion of ethnic, racial and tribal chauvinism."

The fringe is the center. The center is the fringe. Viva La Raza.

How bad is it, when even a CBS News writer dares slam on the Raza Studies program?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/07/02/opinion/main4227721.shtml

We have our state education superintendent Tom Horne, and a former teacher of Hispanic heritage John Ward, who have the BACKBONE to blow the whistle on these sleazy little losers who teach the Hispanic kids that they have no chance, because "Da Man Got Them Down".

Our Mayor, City Council, and the School Board are COWARDS and won't lift a finger. It will take VOTERS to PAY ATTENTION to what they are doing, these filthy little Commies, but given the 90% Apathy Rate, I doubt anything will change.

Can I ask something to the “Peace and Love” Liberals since it has been bothering me: If Rush Limbaugh going after Ted Kennedy is “Hate” what about Randi Rhodes going after Bush? Or is that Nuanced hate or nuanced love, or gravitas?

So according to Lefties if somebody is a passionate believer in the minority cause of reconquista and a Right-Winger opposes that it is “Hate” but if somebody is a passionate believer in the minority cause of the State of Israel and a Lefty opposes that what is it then? Personally I hate the term “Hate Crime”. Like I said in another thread, it conjures up an insult like “meany meany crime”.

As I have said before, the one problem with why Liberals hate Israel so much and love Illegal Alien groups is that Israelis are not part of some “authentic” separatist movement. They are not “handsome brave revolutionaries” tucked in scarves inciting radical violence and terrorism to get their way. Perhaps if Palestinians completely changed their views on the Israelis, the Lefties can find some other group to sympathize about on the road to world Liberation, except for Cubans.

I saw McCain addressing the crowd on a news clip.

He was making noise about how in Arizona Spanish was spoken long before English was.

If that’s not pandering to the La Raza/Reconquista crowd, what is?

I screamed at the television.

Later, Obama was talking about the little hispanic girl who graduates without learning how to read.

How is that possible?

Obama said, “It’s an American problem.”

That was when my husband went off like a roman candle.

“If my mom can come here from f-in Germany with a sixth grade education and go to nursing school and conduct all the business she had to, they can! English! English only!”

That was the WalMart version of his booming dialogue.

Someday, we will both have a heart attack while watching the news, I just know it!

__

Twice as acceptable, he’s leading the hispanic vote 2 to 1 over McCain.

If democrats were losing hispanics 2 to 1 them and the media would be all over voter id’s, “common sense” immigration reform and border security.

Why the Republicans want to immigration their own party out of existence is a small mystery.

If conservatives could win, RINOs would have no raîson d'être. They need to ensure that liberals stay well-enough in power that RINOs will be the "electable" alternative.

"La Raza Cosmica" was a concept developed by the neo-Hegelian philosopher Vasconcelos to "demonstrate" that racially and culturally Mexicans combine the best of the Indian with that of the European. In Mexico, it traditionally is used in place of "the Mexican people" although it is archaic.

I agree with much of what Michelle says here, and hope she never finds herself distracted by stupid issues like Rachel Ray's shawl ever again.

The earth is in dire need of a gigantic asteroid strike. I'd much rather America go extinct that way than the way it's going now. America is like a once productive beehive being invaded by insidious parasites that will slowly but surely wipe it out, and the 2 bees that are supposed to guard the entrance into the hive are saying "come on in!" to all the enemies of the hive.

Conservatives truly have no influential political party to call their home in America any more. We have the Dem marxists/communists and the GOP socialists/globalists. We're so screwed. :-(

The only thing standing in the way of this nation's doom is We The People, and most of them won't wake up to reality until it's far too late, if ever. The politicians in this nation are traitors, regardless of party affiliation.

And "La Raza" can kiss my azza.

It’s always shocking when I encounter a person who otherwise seems like a fairly rational, normal person who can’t comprehend that the “The Race” is a racist organization. If they wanted to make that fact any more clear I don’t know how they could go about doing it; maybe calling themselves “The Racists” would clear up all confusion. Yet even then, I’m sure the left would find plenty of excuses for their behavior.

8. "The Race" bitterly protested common-sense voter ID provisions as an "absolute disgrace."

This shows you what an absolute sham La Raza truly is.

In Mexico, every citizen is required by law to have a special *Voter ID Card* issued by the Mexican Government. They will not even accept a driver's license in place of this Voter ID Card. Every polling station is requited to have a registry that includes the name, signature, fingerprint, and photograph of every voter that is registered at that station.

I have relatives in Mexico that misplaced their Voter ID's and were not allowed to vote.

Why isn't La Raza screaming at the Mexican government to drop it voting ID laws...?? They're obviously "anti-hispanic".

My in-laws came from Lithuania after WWII. They are, by no means, rocket scientists, but they learned English, bought a house, started a business and put 4 kids through parochial schools.

Although it’s not, they made learning English seem easy. No signs in English/Lithuanian, no “Press 2 for Lithuanian,” no hand-holding from the government, none of that crap. They assimilated, yet sent their kids to special classes on Saturdays to build on their Lithuanian language and culture, never in a separatist way. They actually did better in their lives than a lot of Americans.

On July 4, 1976, they became Americans.

La Raza is exactly what one would expect from the “Bronze People” (their term for themselves) in that it is violent, racist, and incompatable with America.

These whiners are political opportunists who claim descent from the cannibal tribes of Meso-America as the absis for their list of “gimmies”.

I suggest we give them deportation.

Neither one of these two are fit to be US senators, let alone president. Both are determined to destroy the republic by opening the backdoor to marxists, racists and fascists.

We need to take back local governments to establish a political base and a staging area to fight the criminal fascist syndicate occupying Washington.

McCain could have a “Sister Souljah Moment” if he took to the podium and denounced all types of racism including that of La Raza. He also should support English Only legislation. These two positions would energize the conservative base and cause a much-needed public debate which is sorely missing from the campaign. It might even shame the media into covering it.

The San Diego city council voted unanamously to declare this “National Council of LaRaza Week”. The Mayor was on Roger Hedgecocks local radio show extolling the virtues of LaRaza. Politicians pander to this racist group, give them taxpayer money and spit in the face of traditional Americans. Voting doesn't help. What else can be done?

And Sen Juan McAmnesty forgot that long before that 'Apache' was spoken in Arizona (and New Mexico). There was the Kiowa, Mescalero, Chiricahua, Navajo & Paiute 'indians' to name few. And there weren't any Spaniards, or for sure, Mexicans, there then (And in Texas there was the Comanches).

That little tidbit is always overlooked when the Mexicans say its 'their land' and we stole it.

Couldnt agree with you more. Picking the less of two evils. I think with enough pressure we can get congress and a McCain to back off on illegal immigration issues. There have also been some great stories recently...the Iowa meat packing bust of hundreds of illegals resulted in top management being prosecuted...cerberus...illegals returning accross the border. But we cant stop here, keep pushing congress. Must build the fence, must prosecute business owners who hire illegals, no more freebies, English only.
We must not stop until we take our Country back!!

Good points.

McCain's obsession with amnesty and illegal aliens is far too extreme, something he will never back off - for whatever reason. He even voted against the Cronyn amendment - that is insane. Why is he so determined, at points hysterical, to sell out this country? Is it
*bribes,
*blackmail over something he and/or Cindy has done,
*delusions,
*brainwashed,
*actions of a fanatic pushing his pet agenda?
