ST PETERSBURG (Reuters) - A Russian woman in St Petersburg killed her drunk husband with a folding couch, Russian media reported on Wednesday.

St Petersburg's Channel Five said the man's wife, upset with her husband for being drunk and refusing to get up, kicked a handle after an argument, activating a mechanism that folds the couch up against a wall.

They will never iron out their problems by pulling things out of the blue like that...those middle rods suck! Just think of Elaine from “Seinfeld” when Jerry and Elaine went to Florida to see his parents...

So what? Now, if she'd beaten the guy to death with a folding couch ... that would be a noteworthy story.

I’m not sure which is more incredible; that the mechanism actually operated as designed, or that it actually killed a drunken Russian.

This story reminds me of an old St. Elsewhere episode...

They had this old woman in many of the episodes, I bellieve her name was Mrs. Hoffnagle, and she was always in the hospital, with this, that, or the other ailment, and it seems that they could never find anything really wrong with her...

She would complain all the time, and was as snide as could be to all the doctors and nurses, and no one liked her...and each doctor in turn would pawn her off on another doctor, often the new residents...

Then in the last episode where she appeared, she was all alone in her room, she was fooling around with the controls of her automatic hospital bed...somehow the controls either jammed or got stuck, and the head of the bed, began rising while the foot of the bed also began rising, and poor Mrs. Hoffnagle, could not get them to stop, and both the head of the bed, and the foot of the bed, keep rising up, until finally Mrs. Hoffnagled was squished between the foot and the head...when they found her, she was dead, probably had been smothered to death...death by hospital bed...

They were taken away from American wives years ago by a US Congress full of thoughtful and socially advanced liberal representatives attempting to given them an easier and crime-free lifestyle. “Better Living ... Through an All-Knowing and All-Seeing Congress”. :-)
