The main issue for making English the official language of the US is that right now nothing stops legal proceedings from being conducted in another language. We could find, for example, that some small town located near the Mexican border and with a majority of Spanish-speaking residents could pass laws in Spanish (or some local Mexican Indian dialect). They could hold court in that same language. So, English speakers would just be screwed.
AFAIC, people are free to conduct their personal and private business in any language they please. Just make English official, so we have a common language base for government functions.

According to McCAin there would be NO illegals, he’s going to make them all legal, so the license question is mute. So is the language question until he says he will rescind Clinton’s EO to make everything associated with the government Spanish/English or whatever anyone demands.
Most immigrants are not stupid - they come here because of a free economy, rule of law, and a stable and unified culture. The places they left don’t have those things, and they don’t want those qualities in the USA destroyed — although some of our own Americans are doing their damnedest to do so.

Case in point: I am involved in a Home Based Business and my business partner is Domincan....so obviously, he speaks Spanish. We also have an MD that speaks great Spanish in our upline. The Mexican people in our downline are complaining that neither of them speak 'MEXICAN' Spanish! Can you believe it?????

Faith - you’re exactly right, he intends to turn us into a European “model”. The ironic thing is - more and more of Europe is now leaning our way, revamping much of their system into a more conservative, western one (because theirs have failed, not worked!)
