One of the firefighters on my volunteer department is in the hospital with terminal cancer. They say he's still going strong, but from what I was hearing, his chances aren't good. I'm asking for a prayer of healing and...a prayer for a peaceful departure should it become necessary.
I'm also asking for a prayer of comfort for his family.
Prayers for your colleague’s suffering to be eased.

Prayers for healing, comfort, and strength.
This is truly what I believe. Not believing this, not believing in God, not believing Jesus when he said he was going to prepare a place for me, would end all purpose for living. And what keeps me going is focusing on the Heaven that awaits the believers.
The Heaven John wrote about in the Bible is so full of wonders and mysteries that in our wildest dreams we could not imagine it. Certainly Heaven contains many surprises which we will never be able to comprehend in this life. And it will not be boring.
Think back to the one single best day of your whole life. Maybe it was your wedding, the birth of your child, your first trip to Disneyland, the anniversary cruise with your spouse, whatever. Now imagine each day in Heaven being that multiplied 100-fold, and the number of those days will be endless. That is what I firmly believe Heaven will be like. Is it no wonder the Creator of it all will be worshiped by all the Heavenly host?
I hope he knows Christ, and if not I pray that God send someone to him who could lead him to Salvation.

I’d just like to get on and say thank you to all who have sent prayers and to any future prayers. Not only are you helping a fellow firefighter, you are also showing me the bond that firefighters have with each other; that brotherly bond is one of the top reasons I want to be a firefighter.
I’ll try to keep you guys updated on his condition; understandably, his family isn’t comfortable discussing it.
And while I submit to the Lord’s will, I can’t help but pray it’s not his time yet. The death of a fellow firefighter is something...I was hoping not to have to experience so soon.

Almighty Father, help this man in his fight against cancer, heal him and make him whole, as is Your will, and to Your greater Glory. See to all his needs and those of his family and loved ones as only You can. I ask this in Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.

I believe God watches out for those special people that unselfishly give of themselves to community, country etc.

HEALING CONFESSION
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Living Word. You said that Your Word is Life to those who find it and medicine to all their flesh. Today, by my confession, I apply Your Word to our body by giving voice to it. You said in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that Your works are marvelous. I declare that You made us and we are a marvelous creation.
I speak to sickness and disease today and proclaim that according to Philippians 2:10 that they must bow down to the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every name in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth bows its knee to Jesus’ name.
I speak to our body today and declare that we have authority over it. I command it to receive the Word of God. Matthew 8:17 proclaims that Jesus bore our sickness and took our infirmities. Heavenly Father, I thank you that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us and makes alive our mortal body.
I speak to our immune system and command it to line up with the Word of God. Our immune system will destroy sickness and disease in our body and perform its job, for this is what You created it to do. I thank you, Father, that every cell in our body responds to Your Word. Your Word permeates our body from the top of our head to the bottom of our feet. I confess that the Word of God is being made flesh in us. Psalm 103:3 declares that You, Father, forgave all our iniquities and healed all our diseases. Father, that is Your confession and I make it my confession, also. We don't judge by the sight of our eyes; we judge by Your Living Word. It is Your Word that lives in us and brings health and healing to every part of our body.
Heavenly Father, I rejoice at Your promise of divine health. You said it and I believe it. Today I declare that we will see Your promise of healing manifest in our body.
Healing is ours because Jesus paid the price two thousand years ago. God so loved us that He sent His Son to die on the cross so that we could experience life on God's terms. His abundant life is manifesting in us. Make us whole ~ body, soul, and spirit. Amen ...

You tell your friend that this firefighter would be proud to make entry with him into an involved structure, anytime.
Father, have mercy on this man who would risk his life to save our lives and property. We beseech you to grant him healing and peace. In Your Holy Name, we cover him now with our prayers.

I regret to inform Free Republic that David Ragsdale, volunteer firefighter of the Beaverfork Volunteer Fire Department, passed away a few days ago.
His family and I thank you for your prayers.
