The family that planted corn in the front yard of their $500,000 home is gone from Carrie Oliver's street. So are the neighbors who drilled holes into the trees to string up a hammock.
Oliver's list goes on: The loud music. The beer bottles. The littered diapers. All gone. When she and her husband, Ron, went for walks in their Manassas area neighborhood, she would take a trash bag and he would carry a handgun. No more. "So much has changed," she said in a gush of relief, standing with her husband on a warm summer evening recently outside a Costco store.

Oh no! All those “family values” just gone! Why whatever shall we do?
At first I wondered whether they were talking about the Hispanic population in Mexico or the Hispanic population in the United States.
Anecdotes of the trend outstrip hard statistical evidence, yet there are clear signs that the county’s Latino population has reversed its pace of rapid growth. County officials said there are 4,000 to 7,000 vacant homes in the county. Trustee notices fill the classified section of area newspapers, chronicling the steady, staggering forfeiture of properties by homeowners with Hispanic surnames such as Mendez, Lozano, Medina and Rodriguez.
Not to mention;
“The family that planted corn in the front yard of their $500,000 home is gone from Carrie Olivers street. So are the neighbors who drilled holes into the trees to string up a hammock.

boo frickin’ hoo.
So we’re supposed to be sad that they had to leave? The Washington ComPost wants us to be liberal on this subject?
And where is the big problem???? I guess Michele Obammi is unhappy with America all over again. The article didn’t mention whether the crime rate had plummeted or not. Oh, I guess that would be unfair to even think that.
On Brit’s Special Report last night they had a story about how Mexicans are leaving the US and returning to Mexico (boo hoo!) because they can’t find jobs and don’t like the anti-immigrant sentiment here. I was screaming from my kitchenADIOS!!!
Let’s hope this is the first small step in taking America back from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Jorge El Segundo and the hordes of illegal invaders they have supported, encouraged and recruited.
“Adios. Thanks for coming. Buh-bye. -Wb “
Adios. Thanks for going. Buh-bye. -Wb - fixed that minor typo.
;-)
Gee, how sad..... (NOT!)
no problem at all let’s hurry up and get that 300 billion dollar bill passed so we can pay off their mortgage companies for the failed loans made to them and everything will be just dandy.
I plant tomatoes in my front yard. It’s the only place I get good sun!
—hopefully, they will take some lessons back to Mexico ——
Don’t let the door hit in you in the arse on the way out!
“hopefully, they will take some lessons back to Mexico ”
You can be sure they will. They’ll tell their countrymen how easy it is to rip off social services, that LEO’s won’t even inquire if they’re here legally or using your ID , that an alien has more rights than a citizen and how STUPID the American public/government is for putting up with this invasion.
Enforce the law. Make no apologies.
“loud music. The beer bottles. The littered diapers. [H]e would carry a handgun.”
And the ubiquitous Spanish graffiti, a dozen of “God’s children” in a 3 BR house with the crime, squalor, depressed property values, moral decay and tax dollars to support them... illegals are the gift that keeps on giving.
Obammy and Juan can both bite moi.
You guys (and gal) have misread the article. These people aren’t complaining, they are listing the good things that have happend to their community due to the increase in illegal immigration enforcement.
There are many reasons to hate on the Post, but you can at least try and read the article before doing so.
But isn’t enforcing the law racist? Give the flotsam we have running for president, you would think it was.
LOL!! I think our fellow FReepers are just venting at the uphoric good news! Me too. Now, if only we in Texas could see a mass exodus of these people heading south.
And frankly, I don’t care if they take any “lessons” back with them other than DON’T COME BACK. They can’t run their country properly anyway...proof’s in the pudding.
This woman complains about people planting corn or putting up a hammock in their own yard?
Get a life!
If they wish to get back in our good graces, they should take a few LIEberals with them.
Shocking!! How dare they?
“But there are folks a lot worse than even the illegals that are welcomed.......Those primitives from cesspools called countries who bring their primitive, tribal crap and psychotic religions with them and demand accommodation. They are a real danger. “
Have you taken a look at some of the ‘religion’ that comes from south of the border that sometimes claims to be Christian? Very pagan, very primitive and VERY tribal. The drug runners and human smugglers have a special patron saint they pray to for their cause.
I just wish we could get the REST of Virginia’s counties and cities to learn from Prince William!!
Oh yeah. I’m familiar with that Santeria garbage. Very bad stuff. Not to mention the voodoo influenced so called Christian stuff. I was primarily referring to the homicidal death cult of muzzies in my post, though. That has infected even the most primitive of mud sucking slime. MY God. When I read some of the stuff I am posting nowadays, I realize how radicalized I have become. I guess I’m just sick of it all. And as I get much older, I don’t get more mellow. I just figure It’s time to say exactly what I believe and maybe, at some point, do whatever needs to be done to help. DO you realize what older folks could do if they actually physically rebelled? Interesting. At a certain point what’s to lose?
WAPO make no distinction between illegal immigrants and immigrants.
Yet are the first to cry theft if we use their articles.
Strange that your 1st post should RAG on FR posters....we got our eyes on you, buddy! LOL TGIF.
“MY God. When I read some of the stuff I am posting nowadays, I realize how radicalized I have become. I guess Im just sick of it all. And as I get much older, I dont get more mellow. I feel your pain! lol....mercy, if only there was a way to motivate them. Now that I ARE one of ‘em, it makes me sick. My generation and the one just older is the greediest bunch of old farts I’ve ever encountered...they are still largely the ‘me generation’.
I’ve tried, I can’t get them interested in anything.
So exactly how in hell did an illegal alien get a 500,000 dollar mortgage in the first place? Am I supposed to feel sorry for the guy because he got thrown out of a country he had no business being in in the first place?? And now my tax dollars are going to bail out the mortgage lender who loaned money to an illegal alien??? Only in a leftist run nation can anything be so screwed up. Anyhow, lets hope more communities follow the “get ‘em the hell out of here” plan.
Actually the article does mention a steady decrease in crime.
I did read the article. My posts were tongue in cheek, I saw the article the same way you did.
>>>>This woman complains about people planting corn
You don’t get it. People don’t plant corn **in their front yards** in densely suburban Northern Virgina. Flowers, yes. Hammocks, sure. Herbs and wildflowers, OK. Soybeans, uh, maybe. Chicken pens, nope. Pig stys, uh unh. Six-foot tall corn rows, nope.
“So exactly how in hell did an illegal alien get a 500,000 dollar mortgage in the first place?”
Beats me. I just hope and pray that the greedy f**ks that gave them the loan go under AND spend time behind bars.
>>>My new front yard is around 3/4 acre, and I’m SERIOUSLY thinking about planting corn on it!
Nice. Now how would you like to do that on your suburban 1/4 acre lot, with a 50x100 front yard?
Are pig stys and chicken pens OK as well?
“This woman complains about people planting corn or putting up a hammock in their own yard?”
Where do the words “in their own yard” appear in the article?
>>>>Yeah. I don’t see planting any crops is a particular problem.
You folks out in rural America are having a tough time understanding that a suburban neighborhood of 3 bed/2 bath houses on 1/4 acre lots is dramatically different than a house in Iowa or Oklahoma sitting on 10 acres.
Victory Gardening ;)
Gas keeps going up and you might start seeing a lot more of it
In the first sentence: "in the front yard of their $500,000 home"
>>>>Gas keeps going up and you might start seeing a lot more of it
Well I’ve lived 50+ years in big-city suburban America and have never heard (or seen) of any native American planting crops in their front yard. As the article pointed out (though you guys seem in denial) around here it’s a sure sign that a foreign entity is in your neighborhood, somewhat the same as the live chickens being beheaded and dressed on apartment balconies over in Takoma Park MD (an illegal alien sanctuary city).
Back yard, absolutely yes, in fact I had a rather large one once that occupied 1/2 the yard and kept us overloaded with vegetables right into October. That’s fairly common.
I’m really very surprised at how unaware you rural folks seem to be of your neighbors in ticky-tacky big-city suburban America. Our modes and customs must seem very mysterious to you. But rest assured that we know the signposts of an illegal alien occupation, and front-yard corn crops would be one of those.
ditto....
The big problem is that most of them walked out on mortgages the American people will ultimately have to repay.
Don’t get your hopes up. Juan will be calling God’s Chil’run back today when he speaks to La Raza.
I totally missed that the first time, thanks you. I read it as “in front of.” I can see where it would bother the neighbors, but if it is on their own property then too bad.
