Russia and China cast the veto votes, of course.

Vetos Russian and Chinese sanctions against the Zimbabwe

NEW YORK (United Nations) - China and Russia vetoed Friday to the Security Council a draft resolution that would have sanctioned Zimbabwe for its electoral process and violent dispute.

The draft resolution, drafted by the USA, has received nine votes in favour, five against (China, Russia, South Africa, Libya, Vietnam) and one abstention (Indonesia). The text was rejected.

These six countries were opposed in principle to the involvement of the Council in the Zimbabwean crisis. Their representatives have all argued that the situation in Zimbabwe does not constitute a threat to international peace and security, only purview of the Security Council.

Be sure and tell Cathy Buckle this does not rise to the level of a U.N. sanction.

The UN is a worthless POS! We need a Council of Democratic States. Everyone else can go suck an egg!

As long as there is no polaroids circulated with some one in a dog collar or wearing underwear on their heads, Mugabe’s actions do not rise to the “atrocity” level.

We need to send some dark ops guys in there to straighten things out.
