Welcome to the most grassroots-driven platform development effort in the history of American politics!
The Republican Party is seeking your input as we develop the policies and principles upon which we should stand for the next four years. On this website, you can share your thoughts, participate in polls, and communicate directly with the policymakers who will be shaping the party's agenda. All comments and feedback will be reviewed and taken into full consideration as we prepare for our convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
We hope that this process will guarantee the greatest amount of public input into any platform in American history!

How about adding getting rid of all the pervs and crooks? One strike(or toe-tap) and your GOP credentials are revoked.
ROFL
I would be happy with half of those you listed. I think I might add bringing troops home from Korea as well. Let these countries defend themselves. The USA has certainly already ‘gave at the office’. I would also like Republicans to start showing a little spine and exposing this AGW hoax for what it is and also get out of the UN. I totally agree with your illegal immigrant views but also I think our Immigration laws need an overhaul. We can’t sustain, I don’t believe, one-million immigrants a year.
also, No "Birthright"...If your parent(s) were Illegal, so are you...(your legal status, is not "dependent" is not where you were "dropped @ birth / calved"...and so NO US Benefits)
If your parents were legal...so are you.
11. Stop perpetuating the CO2 myth, there are many other sensible environmental causes to focus on that will provide more concrete results.
Thanks for the link. Hopefully they will get a lot of Freeper input.
The newest element is the Great Smokies started the last great ice-age because they sucked all the C02 from the air when the plates crashed.
I would add - NO foreign aid of any kind to any state for any reason - if you want to send money to cure aids in Africa, help tsunami victims, etc- send it yourself as an individual.
Good start...
Clean out the moles, slugs, useless clerks in government; reform the civil service laws so a screw-up can be fired.
Make the Tax cuts permanent; eliminate the 27 year old AMT tax which is one of the most burdensome taxes on record.
Make every employee in the FBI,CIA, and State and Judiciary Dept take polygraph tests..If they fail they are out-fired..
Immediately Censure and Expel from the House or Senate any member who leaks National Security Information to any journalist or to the Media..or who travels to a foreign country in defiance of our State Dept. policies..If any citizen does this-to see a foreign dictator, take away his Passport.
Give the FBI greater investigative powers.
Give the President the Line Item veto..It will be a good way to stop the pork and focus spending on where it should go; eliminate billions in foreign aid when our own country is suffering.
Take away the power of the Senate Judiciary Committee to not allow a nominee’s name to come to the full Senate floor for a confirmation vote..This abusive committee has way too much power.
Get the government out of our schools...Set a minimum passing standard and then step aside..Let each State run it’s school system..
Remove the Tax on gas and cigarettes; the government has no right to profit on people’s misery...The gas tax is very close to the Tea Tax..very oppressive..
Break the deadlock of the dairy associations which keep the price of milk sky high...shameful.
Stop the farm subsidies..Use that money for farmers who have lost crops due to natural disasters
Pass a law that every child from age 5 and up must carry a small concealable GPS monitor, to help with Amber Alerts..It can be embedded in eyeglasses, a watch, shoe or sneaker, headband, bracelet, backpack, etc...Make if affordable so every family can afford one.
Reform the Commodities and Securities industries to prevent investors both foreign and domestic from artificially pushing up the price of the commodities and investment instruments we use every day—such as gas..Bring sanctions against governments which allow unchecked brokers to abuse the pricing systems..
yep. I have to add that one to the list as well. Reduce spending . . . spending . . . spending. The huge increase in spending and the illegal issue are what truly sunk Bush with conservatives. Honestly the illegal immigration issue started when we gave them amnesty in the first place and we all know where that started. Yet is it time to turn it around and start the U.S. anew. Time to take the United States of America back and stop the bleeding to death.
Like anything in politics it helps to K.I.S.S. and I don’t mean a—, as in what the GOP is presently doing with the libs. I mean keep it simple. I think your list is a good beginning, I believe though that reducing spending must be close to the top. We need a challenge as a nation to come up with energy alternatives just as Kennedy did with the race to the moon in a decade. We need a leader that will challenge and inspire, not a facist regulator and implementator. We also need to work on ALL levels. National, State, and Local. We need new young blood with gonads, integrity, and the ability to sell. (male or female :-)
make congress pay the maximum tax rate they pass,
set a goal for 9% tax rate
outlaw double digit taxation
Woe to you who call evil good and good evil.
There is no immigration discussion group on GOP.com

Hard to be heard when they ask about the wrong things and structure the answers so that you get the Socialist or Socialist Lite versions on others.
This thread is destined to be a rant classic....
But let us all not merely vent, let us find positive, productive things to do and let us indeed pray for America.
Sorry. I don’t want to hear about building Tomorrow until today is repaired. Nominate a strong conservative VP for JM.

here, here :-). Thanks for the reminder.
When I donated to Terri Schaivo, I was dismayed to receive a large quanity of political junk mail ever since.
With that in mind, reading “We may share your information with like-minded organizations. The RNC may share information — that you voluntarily provide us — with like-minded organizations committed to the principles or candidates of the Republican party, Republican State Party organizations and local Republican groups.” makes me decide not create an account for the platform.
Pass a law that every child from age 5 and up must carry a small concealable GPS monitor, to help with Amber Alerts..It can be embedded in eyeglasses, a watch, shoe or sneaker, headband, bracelet, backpack, etc...Make if affordable so every family can afford one.
***Nanny State Alert. Also, note that this is how the system of the beast leverages its way into our society — sounded like a good idea at the time.
Revelation 13:
16He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
Absolutely! The current laws are so absurd, if, in fact, you can call them laws. Are they still considered laws when they are rarely enforced or is that called a suggestion?
Well, I went there and made about 20 suggestions. I kept having to reword my comments though because evidently the site didn’t like my use of the phrase “grow some gonads” or “stop the global warming crap”, things like that and worse. Evidently they have a spell check on their site. However I did get my ideas for much smaller government across I believe.
My suggestion was a 7% tax rate, but we were thinking alike there!
****make congress pay the maximum tax rate they pass,
set a goal for 9% tax rate
outlaw double digit taxation****
I agree, in the same vein of thought though, I would suggest that for the income tax season, all of the political elite be locked up in a room with a drinking faucet, vending machines and a calculator.
They would be let out when they have completed their own tax return with no errors and no help.
They make all these stupid laws, they should understand them.
Bring back sword duels.
Make tar and feathers the republican national logo.
Every 4th of July dress like Indians and throw boxes of liberals into the harbor.

WOW, you took the words right out of my mouth. :)
That will work, also. :)
I have tried 2 times to sign up and been told that an email had been sent - neither of which have arrived - even overnight.
Either this here internet and email thing is beyond their grasp or something squirrely is going on...
Realize that Conservatism is the heart of the GOP; look to the NRA for political lessons and how to stay passionate.
1. THE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY ACT: A balanced budget/tax limitation amendment and a legislative line-item veto to restore fiscal responsibility to an out- of-control Congress, requiring them to live under the same budget constraints as families and businesses.
2. THE TAKING BACK OUR STREETS ACT: An anti-crime package including stronger truth-in- sentencing, "good faith" exclusionary rule exemptions, effective death penalty provisions, and cuts in social spending from this summer's "crime" bill to fund prison construction and additional law enforcement to keep people secure in their neighborhoods and kids safe in their schools.
3. THE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY ACT: Discourage illegitimacy and teen pregnancy by prohibiting welfare to minor mothers and denying increased AFDC for additional children while on welfare, cut spending for welfare programs, and enact a tough two-years-and-out provision with work requirements to promote individual responsibility.
4. THE FAMILY REINFORCEMENT ACT: Child support enforcement, tax incentives for adoption, strengthening rights of parents in their children's education, stronger child pornography laws, and an elderly dependent care tax credit to reinforce the central role of families in American society.
5. THE AMERICAN DREAM RESTORATION ACT: A S500 per child tax credit, begin repeal of the marriage tax penalty, and creation of American Dream Savings Accounts to provide middle class tax relief.
6. THE NATIONAL SECURITY RESTORATION ACT: No U.S. troops under U.N. command and restoration of the essential parts of our national security funding to strengthen our national defense and maintain our credibility around the world.
7. THE SENIOR CITIZENS FAIRNESS ACT: Raise the Social Security earnings limit which currently forces seniors out of the work force, repeal the 1993 tax hikes on Social Security benefits and provide tax incentives for private long-term care insurance to let Older Americans keep more of what they have earned over the years.
8. THE JOB CREATION AND WAGE ENHANCEMENT ACT: Small business incentives, capital gains cut and indexation, neutral cost recovery, risk assessment/cost-benefit analysis, strengthening the Regulatory Flexibility Act and unfunded mandate reform to create jobs and raise worker wages.
9. THE COMMON SENSE LEGAL REFORM ACT: "Loser pays" laws, reasonable limits on punitive damages and reform of product liability laws to stem the endless tide of litigation. (
10. THE CITIZEN LEGISLATURE ACT: A first-ever vote on term limits to replace career politicians with citizen legislators.
Further, we will instruct the House Budget Committee to report to the floor and we will work to enact additional budget savings, beyond the budget cuts specifically included in the legislation described above, to ensure that the Federal budget deficit will be less than it would have been without the enactment of these bills.
Respecting the judgment of our fellow citizens as we seek their mandate for reform, we hereby pledge our names to this Contract with America.

The Internal Revenue Service is unacceptable to U. S. taxpayers! We urge that the IRS be abolished and the Sixteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution be repealed. We further urge that the personal income tax, alternative minimum tax, inheritance(death) tax, gift tax, capital gains, corporate income tax, and payroll tax be eliminated. We recommend the implementation of a national retail salestax, with the provision that a two-thirds majority of the U.S. House and U.S. Senate is required to raise the rate. Such reforms will encourage investment and economic growth. Such a sales tax plan must ensure that no one in America pays taxes of any kind on the necessities of life, ensuring opportunity and quality of life for low- and fixed-income Americans. We believe every tax at every level should be a separate and clearly visible billing to the taxpayer, regardless of type of tax, and of calculation method, so we support tax visibility in all forms.
They truly do need to be FREEPED often! The GOP has abandoned conservatives and conservatism, and they truly need to get an earful from all grassroot conservatives all the way to the GOP Convention and beyond!
While I’m glad to see that the GOP is actually making an effort to listen to its own base (for the first time in 7 years) I very much doubt any of the ideas submitted by Freepers will get any traction.
The GOP leadership has completely sold out conservatives and has become what the Democratic party was 40 years ago. I have ZERO confidence in them.
> > “Bring back sword duels.”
ARRRRRR! With you there. And flintlock pistols ;^)
Immediately dismantle the Department of Education, allow states to set their own goals, and forbid the federal government from requiring states to follow any previous federal educational mandates, funded or unfunded.
“Pass a law that every child from age 5 and up must carry a small concealable GPS monitor, to help with Amber Alerts..It can be embedded in eyeglasses, a watch, shoe or sneaker, headband, bracelet, backpack, etc...Make if affordable so every family can afford one.”
I like this one in particular, but think it should be done at birth. Heck, we ‘tag’ our pets, but have yet to secure our own children.
You MUST use leverage and power, they will understand and respect (and fear) nothing less. I know how these creatures in the Eisenhower Building in S.W. work.
OK... I’ve got a problem with them right off the bat. “Accountability in Education” is listed as one of the Party’s top priorities. Whatever happened to “Abolish the Department of Education” as a top Party priority? “Health Care Reform” is right up there too. What about “Restore Free-market Economics to the Health Care System” as a priority?
Dude... Where’s my Party?
You must realize though that the platform is meaningless. They aren’t made to follow it.
Walk away from the GOP. It’s rotten beyond repair.
