It’s one of the iron rules of politics – you have more to fear from your friends than from you enemies. Senator Barack Obama’s supporter, Jesse Jackson, seemingly threatened him bodily harm this week. Senator John McCain’s pal and economic adviser, Phil Gramm, went all “mental” on him a day later.
Then, last night in Chicago, a longtime friend and supporter of Mr. Obama, the comedian Bernie Mac, “entertained” an Obama fundraiser crowd with a humor routine touching on menopause, prostitution and black family relations. By the time he was wrapping up his remarks, some in the crowd had turned on him and Mr. Obama, when he took the stage, told him to “clean up his act.”
Some of what Mr. Mac said was unprintable, but some was well-received by the crowd.
He said that Mr. Obama should watch the 2003 movie he made with Chris Rock about a black president, “Head of State,” to prepare himself for the dirty tricks the opposition will play on him if he wins the White House, such as spreading false rumors about him.
“People like rumors. They’re going to say things like you was at the club with Lil’ Kim, and you and Kanye West got into a fist fight,” he said. “You can’t get upset. You’ve got to keep hope alive.”

You obviously never listened to him. His comedy routine focuses on blacks who don't work, commit crimes, or don't take care of their kids. The show he had on Fox was very pro-family. He also raised his sister's kids too.
That doesn't mean he's funny. :)

Most of all, with Obama’s numbers dropping and his money sources drying up, this will continue to get interesting.

Bernie Mac is funny I think. Even with his “black” humor. Obama is going to start ticking off his black supporters by bashing all the celebrities they love.
Obama's even more clueless than I thought. 90% of what any modern comedian says is "inappropriate" -- that's part of the job description. At least he didn't complain that this wasn't the Bernie Mac he knew. Problem is, he keeps sticking with people about whom he knows a lot.
Looks like Bernie was just “Cosbyed”.

Perhaps Obama ought to check with his spokesperson first to find out where he really stands on this (or any) issue.

That’s not the Bernie Mac I knew...
It continues to befuddle and amaze me how so many people in the media and the general population have completely ignored the irony about all the whining being done over Gramm's, "nation of whiners" remark. Likewise, the very same media who place so much stock in reporting, "Consumer Confidence" numbers, and the impact of speculators, are now taking potshots at Gramm for suggesting that people's "knowledge" about the economy is in fact, more accurately described as a "perception."
The same goes for "Hispanic" comics also.
I applaud Barry for calling Bernie Mac out. I'm still not going to vote for him but I do applaud him.

First of all, I know for a fact that real Africans/West Indians-Americans with black skin get angry if you call them an African-American.
The reason is that they think that the American negro is lazy, stupid and a parasite.... while the blacks from Africa think that they work harder, get married, go to church and strive for a superior education.
There is a large rift and the libs are trying to pretend that it's not a real and crystal clear problem.
That's why Jesse was talking about Obama "talking down to black people"..... he meant American "black people"...hahahahahahahaa....
and Obama if everybody here remembers is of direct KENYAN descent and not african-American. But African that was born in America.
Just funny, if you sit down and think about it.
That is the reason that Cosby and a lot of the other "educated" blacks dress up in what they "think" is "African" garb...with the little hats, loose bright colored blouses etc.... they want to make sure that they are placed with the educated, hard working and not the lazy parasite people.
I'd be interested in any thoughts on this, especially from those that have thought about why all of a sudden Obama has to make sure that he is the correct black President and not just someone that is educated that happens to be African-American...

If I’m reading this correctly, the “I’m just messing with you” part is being mostly left out when being reported.
