If the Rev. Jesse Jackson has trouble with something Sen. Barack Obama has said, why does Jackson wish to have the senator from Illinois neutered?
Don't get me wrong.
Jackson is within his rights to charge...that Obama's pitch for federally supported faith-based initiatives is "talking down to black people." I don't share that assessment.
But here's what nags at me: If Jackson's problem is with the words leaving Obama's mouth, why does he want to relieve the man of his testicles?
Jackson, in a comment caught on a microphone that he thought was turned off, said of Obama: "I wanna cut his nuts off."
It brings to mind what Marion Barry famously said when told that Jackson was thinking about running for D.C. mayor. Proclaimed Barry: "Jesse don't wanna run nothing but his mouth."
There's only one aspect of this episode that still concentrates the mind. Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) angrily denounced his father's comment, saying in part: "I thoroughly reject and repudiate his ugly rhetoric. He should keep hope alive and any personal attacks and insults to himself."
Now there's a bright and courageous young man who, given his father's predilections, could do with an iron jock strap.

Ten years ago he would have been all over Fox News for daring to ambush the great Rev. J.J. and “airing out our dirty laundry.” The fact that our black brothers and sisters should not be expected to have a ruthlessly enforced monolithic set of opinions would have been damned as anathema (mustn’t be seen disagreeing with each other in front of whitey). If HE, of all people, is no longer insecure enough to think that way any more, then the entire race uber alles worldview may actually be crumbling.
In a speech I saw on CSPAN a year ago, John McWhorter (”Losing the Race”, “Authentically Black”, “All About the Beat: Why Hip-Hop Can’t Save Black America”) said America would simply have to wait until the old generation of race hustlers died out before we could make real progress. Perhaps it won’t take quite that long after all.
It is certainly true if Obama was president, the usual suspects would look mighty silly with their mantras about how the Black Man can’t make it in this racist hellhole. Not that having Obama as President is worth what he would do to our country, however.
Others have pointed out that Jackson has definitely taken the hint. He hasn’t raised a peep against Fox News for pwn3-ing him.
This whole incident has been a plus for Osama. What a pity.
For the same reason Obama wanted to punch his white friends who told him that they understood what black people go through: Feelings of entitlement and racial grievance justify any expression of violence. If Jesse had said that about a white person, it would have been considered "black rage" and the rest of us would feel suitably chastised.
Fox news hack trying to wiggle out of not reporting the news. It’s not whether or not you’re trying to make someone look bad. It’s reporting a story and letting us decide.
I don’t view it as a plus for Osama, he knows what he’s getting into, taking the Kingfish’s title from him. Jesse needs to admit to the fact that it hasn’t been 1964 for 44 years now.

Micheal Moore loves to recount that when he was filming a Jackson interview clip for his breakthrough hit “Roger and Me” twenty years ago, he was still so green that Jesse had to show HIM where to put the camera.
oh...so from what I understand about Jesse’s wife’s reaction to his love child is that she was the one who removed them - so now she must have handed them over to Fox.
Hey that works.
Maybe we won’t have to listen to him anymore and CEO’s won’t have to worry about getting the shake down from him.
