Problem is, it’s not about the veep, but the nominee.”

Normally, traditionally true. However, this election year is like no other in so many ways - one is that absolutely everyone is waiting to see who the veep will be with JSM because of his perceived “age problem”. It’s ridiculous, but you should check the pulse on brain-dead voters this year, particularly the record turn-out of kids - I’ve seen many polls and “on the street” interviews - they’re concerned that, at 71, he’ll likely get alzheimers. I’m totally serious. Guess no one takes into account great genes, like his 96 year-old mother may likely have passed on to him. she’s still a pistol and they should show her more!!! John McCain, you’d better get with the program.

“Romney is the best all around” - RockinRight

Jim Robinson:

I think this more than anything is the root of my dislike for the man. As I posted earlier, any man who can go on national TV and argue so intensely FOR abortion and even FOR allowing underage girls to get an abortion with or without parental permission as long as she gets a judge’s approval is no conservative, no Republican, no Christian, not even a man at all. Not then. Not now. Not ever. This evil being has no moral bedrock.

Might as well be Ted Kennedy asking for our vote:

I believe a man who would say the things he said on that video is an evil bastard.

The owner of this place does have a way with words doesn’t he? Last but not least and my personal favorite:

As soon as Romney falls down on his knees on national TV in front of God and everyone; and repents and begs for forgiveness for all the innocent young lives that were murdered in the womb on his watch after he ran on the pro-abortion platform, then I will consider it. If the man had any integrity at all, he’d resign and spend the rest of his life and the rest of his money trying to undo some of the wrong he’s done. But not as president. That office is reserved for honest men of the highest character and integrity.

a) JR, that’s a very un-PC statement! :-))) and b) haven’t you heard, we now live in a Nanny State, so that shouldn’t be a problem???

sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun :-)))))))))))

“great genes”

LOL. Between wife, her mother and grandmother we’re talking well over two centuries collectively and still aging gracefully between the three of them, it’s beautiful.

And yet, the most horrific that stands out in my mind is b. hussein’s vote against the ban on “partial birth” aborton. If you know anything about that “procedure”, it’s shocking and heartbreaking - now, if we have to measure degrees of evil, THAT to me is beyond description.

Agreed, the business of America is still business imo, and Romney sees the Invisible Hand. I like Palin or Jindal for VP in 2012.

I'll give you "equally evil" on that one, equal to his favoring allowing survivors of botched abortions to die. (infanticide)

And even though Romney is pro-abortion, he is still salivating over the VPOTUS spot

And kissing up to McCain..

Romney has never been pro abortion.
“Salivating” and “kissing up” are your slurs.
Nana, you are still exposing your biases.

Some people are not “concerned” that McAmnesty might not live long enough to complete two terms, but actually hoping he’ll kick off and we’ll get the VP as President — preferably as soon after winning election as possible.

So his VP is more important than a VP would ordinarily be. It appears to be the only shot we’ll have for a conservative POTUS over the next 8 years.

I think he should swing for the fence and choose Sarah Palin, and do it NOW to capitalize on her views on oil as Alaska’s Governor. Between the oil issue, the gender factor, her anti-abortion stance, her NRA credentials, and family values, Sarah Palin could bring very favorable media attention to the GOP ticket.

Romney has changed his position on a whole lot of issues since deciding to run for president. Why, it seems like just yesterday he was a pro-choice, pro gay, pro gun control, pro amnesty Massachusetts liberal. Thank God he shook all that liberal bilgewater off his back.

The problem with what you are saying is that you are not distinguishing between someone's “core beliefs” and what someone chooses to run on and promise to do when running for office.

MA was and is a basket case in many ways. Romney couldn't turn black to white. He chose what he could would do and ran on that. He promised to correct MA’s fiscal situation. He told people he would not try to change the law on abortion. They elected him to correct the fiscal situation on condition that he would leave the abortion issue alone.

Romney would never say he was “PRO” abortion. Despite his promise however, he ruled pro life in every way he could while governor.

People who are angry with him over this issue, I believe are using “super sensitive words” to read into Romney what isn't there.

“Rob Portman is a Bush Administration insider.”

The same would probably apply to Christopher Cox, even though he’s an extremely bright guy.

There are a few that I’d like to see considered, even though they’ve received little mention.

Eric Cantor- a respected, conservative Congressman from Richmond, Virginia, choosing him would be historic. And he would help not only in his native Virginia, but would attract a number of Democratic cross-overs in several urban states.

Paul Ryan- bright, youthful Congressman from southern Wisconsin, shows great intelligence and promise. Has credibility with conservatives.

Judd Gregg- popular Senator and former Governor from a key state (New Hampshire) that’s trending to the Democrats. Conservative, mild-mannered, with an unthreatening presence.

Mark Sanford- outstanding Governor (perhaps the best) and ex-Congressman. However, South Carolina is safe Republican this year.

Robert Erlich- former Governor from a heavily Democratic state (Maryland), was defeated for reelection in 2006 in spite of high approval ratings, but a number of voters there now have buyer’s remorse towards his successor. Would be helpful in the northeast.

Yes. I have watched that many times.
Apparently, what I see and hear there is different than what you see and hear.
He repeatedly says he will not try to change the law.
That is the platform he ran on.
Don't tell me what you think he said in the video. Tell me what he did as governor on that issue that tells you he is pro abortion.

One of McCain’s across the aisle friends will likely be president - his name is Barack Hussein Obama. So it doesn’t matter who McCain chooses for vp.

At this point, I see McCain as Barry’s running mate. While he’s telling Conservatives to keep their yaps shut, treating his base like a roomful of 5-year olds, and throwing Phil Gramm overboard for telling the truth, he’s helping make sure Obama makes it across the finish line to be our next president.
