Wait. The ACLU?
The Nevada ACLU has declared its support for an individuals right to bear arms, apparently making it the first state affiliate in the nation to buck the national organizations position on the Second Amendment.
The state board of directors reached the decision this month after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects the rights of individuals to own handguns.

The part I have difficulty with is where the AZ ACLU and the national ACLU differ, ie individual vs collective right, and I can’t see the AZ ACLU holding out for long.

How many other Constitutional rights do the say they support "subject to constitutionally permissable regulations?" (Other than religion)
That’s one of the next fights. Heller was not a fix-all for gov’t. intervention in the Second Amendment, but it is a start. It ended the militia/individual argument. Scalia gave us the opening we need with his refutation of “...arbitrary and capricious” regulations. Now it’s up to the lawyers to start pounding that wedge.
Maybe not. We’ll have to see. Whoever thought that we would see the ACLU defending Nazis against Jews?

Well, it’s a step in the right direction. Get them to start supporting property rights, and they just may find a new member.
