Pie-in-the-sky plans to rob a Texas pizza shop reportedly came crashing to earth after a clerk decided to fight back.

Knocked that sucker out cold. I think he was upset about the bad guy slapping him upside the head.
Now the poor clerk will probably get fired for putting up resistance.

Aw, it looks like the female clerk broke up the pummeling. If she hadn’t interfered the perp might have required Emergency Response assistance.

I don’t know why the other clerk was trying to stop him from beating the robber. Kinda reminds me of those spineless liberals who try to stop us from going after mass-murderers like Saddam.
Why did that other worker pull him off of the guy?

Unless the two cameras' clocks are off by several minutes, he wasn't unconsious for that long. He went down at 22:25:40 and was up again on another camera at 22:26:36.
I would ask the boss to explain how defending myself against violence (the perp had already struck the clerk) is against company policy.
After the guy hit the floor, I would have dropped to one knee on his solar plexus. We used to do that to each other when we were kids, and it will put you down for quite awhile. Ouch!
To prevent a lawsuit? Can't watch the video at work, but from the discussion, it sounds like the guy was down and out. If he was, the clerk could have gone from self defense to assault and battery at that point.
To avoid a civil suit from the robber later!

Why the hell did the female clerk attempt to pull him off the perp? What does she care? Previous to that she looked awfully helpful for someone who was being "robbed".

Nah, that was too quick, the clerk slammed into him with his body and before the first shot with his fist the girl was moving to pull him off. The one punch he landed before she pulled him away rang the crook’s bell something fierce, but she was panicking. She wasn’t thinking “lawsuit” or anything like that, she just didn’t want her co-worker to get hurt I bet.
I’d say you’re right. Probably worried about him getting hurt.
Although he put the hurt on the robber instead!

I'd check for a link between her and the perp, then... Trust, but verify.
Things are really getting bad when a thug can’t hold up a pizza joint without the clerk or customers fighting back. That line of work can get a perp beat up or shot dead. Maybe it’s time to think about a career change.

Thanks for the ping. I still haven’t seen the video. Just from the descriptions alone, it sounded strange. From some of the comments on the new thread, it sounds like the girl was in on it from the get-go, even though the report says she didn’t know it was her dad initially.
It's good to know my instincts are still sharp.
