I don’t think Palin is really on the list. She’s still WAY too new in the political arena. She does have a lot of appeal, but not enough experience.

She is a relative light-weight but the chance for victory and her relatively strong conservative record get her a strong look.

I think she’s a better choice to keep in reserve for 2012 or 2016, once she’s run Alaska for more than just a little while. The fact that it’s Alaska doesn’t help her all that much. AK is resource-rich, population extremely poor, and gets a LOT of Federal largesse. She’d have to plan on the lib twacks pointing that out at every turn. Governor of Alaska is barely better than being mayor of a decently large city in terms of the size of government entity that she’s running. That was something used against the Huckster in the primary season (rather truthfully, I might add) when it came to Arkansas.

Rush didn’t help Fred because the all-knowing Maha Rushie understood something that many of us here couldn’t: that Thompson was a non-starter and a sure-loser that couldn’t generate the excitement needed for a successful campaign.

That comment tells me that you either didn't listen to Rush or you didn't understand him. Either way, it doesn't reflect well on you or your opinion.

Rush, if you still don't understand, CLEARLY indicated a preference toward Thompson prior to SC. He also CLEARLY said that it wasn't his job to pick the candidate or tell people how to vote.
