If they only had a brain, the Republicans could ride this pony all the way to November.

What possible reason could the Democrats have for not drilling? I mean one they can live with other than a power grab?

Congress's moratorium on offshore drilling is now the last major political barrier to increasing domestic oil-and-gas production. Yet Democratic leaders have refused to schedule even a single hearing on the topic.

This is good, isn't it? Doesn't the moratorium sunset in October? That would mean no new legislation = no moratorium.

It's probably the most obvious thing in the world to anyone else, but it finally occurred to me the other day why the libs don't want to privatize Social Security. I'd always assumed that they didn't want to give up control, which is true enough. But control of what?

I got this from another thread, it's originally from Boortz.

Brace yourselves:

TRYING TO EXPLAIN A TRILLION

Yesterday on my fine radio program I told you that the total unfunded liabilities for Social Security and Medicare amounted to $41 trillion dollars. That's with a "T". Our government has promised $41 trillion dollars to Social Security and Medicare recipients without any plan to raise the needed money.

So .. just how much is a trillion? Sure, there are plenty of zeros, twelve, to be exact – but that doesn't begin to explain things. So let me take a stab at it.

Have you ever asked for something from someone and had them reply "Just give me 5 minutes." Fine --- but what if he says "Just give me 1,000 minutes ... or a million? Or a billion?" Here's the breakdown:

* 1000 minutes would equal just less than 17 hours. You'll get what you asked for before the day is out.
* 100,000 minutes would be almost 70 days. Check back with your friend later.
* One million minutes? Look for whatever you need in just less than 2 years.
* One billion minutes? That's going to take a while. Try 1,900 years.
* One trillion minutes? Well, today is 2008. Your wishes will be fulfilled in the year 1,903,377, unless your friend steps things up a bit. That's 1,901,369 years from now. Let us know how that works out for you.

Now .. .do you have a better idea how deep in the red we are for Social Security and Medicare? Thank your local vote-buying politician.

Part of the problem is that most Americans actually think, if that's the word, that there is a Social Security Trust Fund out there. There isn't. There never has been. Every penny of Social Security taxes collected every month that is not needed to pay current benefits is transferred to these hideous vote-buying politicians to be spent. If any private pension company in any State in this Union dared to operate in this manner the company would be shut down and the officers put in jail. But not our congress --- they operate this way openly year after year, and then demand your praise, not your condemnation.

When in the hell are the American people going to wise up?

I also read on a thread here on FR that the de-valuation of the dollar may have been intentional by the administration to fend off the Chinese making a run on the Treasury and collapsing the US economy.

Between the liberals and the Iranians and the Chinese... we might as well give up, we're surrounded.

Pelosi is a useful idiot. She actually believes the earth is doomed unless she saves it.

I predict gasoline at $6.00 a gallon at about the same time that the approval rating for congress hits 6%. You go, BHO, we’ll kick your a$$ on this, and ride it into the Whitehouse.

Oh I bet that back when the moratorium was being reauthorized last time the DemocRATS thought it was a good idea to have them set to expire just one month before the 2008 presidential election so they could beat Republicans over the head about the "environment".

Voting for Democrats guarantees we will never be free from foreign oil economic slavery. Because Democrats will never let the american people develop our own independant fuel resources. You can’t build enough wind mills or Solar panels, build enough electric cars, to replace our present webnergy needs...not in 10 years, not in 20...and what are we supposed to do in the mean time???

Only a liberal could see advantage in releasing a “small amount of oil” from the strategic reserve over pumping large amounts out of our own ground.

Imagine, if the “small amount” she calls for from the strategic reserve will reduce prices, how much more could a large amount from off-shore and ANWR reduce prices.

Oh wait, never mind, we are dealing with a liberal mindset.

Aside from the stinking price of gas and a few other things, I am better off. But by no means because of that person. She needs drilling.

"the oilman in the White House,"

Gosh, she's funny .... looking. This woman isn't just an incompetent boob, she's also a menace. This nincompoop, right now, is THE obstacle to drilling on our soil.
