MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities released a 911 call, hoping the public will aid them in finding a man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death with a sword. The tape is an emotional plea for help from a little girl, desperate to save her mother. The 9-year-old made the 911 call early Saturday morning at the couple's Quartz Hill home. Officials said the call was placed just after she and her three young brothers watched their father murder their mother with a 3-foot-long sword. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in tracking down 28-year-old Jesus Canales.

Was he a boyfriend or husband? Was he an illegal alien?

Better questions:
1. How many experience points did he get?
2. Did this change his alignment from chaotic neutral to chaotic evil? Or was he always lawful evil?

Mexico might be a good first place to look.

IIRC, both your questions depend on what character class he is.

Yet more evidence of the fact that a disproportionate number of domestic violence cases occur in households where the couple is not married.

Prayers for the poor daughter to have to witness such brutality against her own mother. How does anyone get over something so horrible?

Heartbreaking to think of that little girl...
From Wikipedia: The racial makeup of [Quartz Hill] was 81.47% White, 4.99% African American, 1.13% Native American, 1.84% Asian, 0.24% Pacific Islander, 6.12% from other races, and 4.21% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.28% of the population.

Probably illegal alien whom Mexico will protect.
BTW, not to divert topics, but I read here a thread on Robert Williams who endlessly tortured a woman. Now I cannot find it. IIRC, puffer posted it.

I’m pretty sure that Rangers were allowed at least some types of swords, at least in 1st and 2nd ed. (IOW the *real* rules, though I don’t remember if Rangers can have evil alignments). And, he’d be eligible for an XP bonus (assuming he held an evil alignment) for doing the deed in front of the child. However, he’d also be facing a short and very exciting life at the hands of nearly every good-aligned character that I, as DM, could think of to throw at him (Bahamut, for starters)

Yes, but as he was living in a city and there was no indication of a love of the outdoors or a profession that involved the outdoors, I don’t think he’d qualify as a ranger.

He is an ILLEGAL ALIEN from El Salvador. The first half dozen Google articles on this story failed to mention that. The local Los Angeles TV stations did.
To: Spktyr
If I’m right about his citizenship status, he must have at least held some specialization in wilderness survival skills.

The better skit was when poor Buck Henry got his head sliced by “Samurai Stockbroker” John Belushi. I saw him jump back as Belushi flailed with the sword, but apparently not fast enough.
Chevy Chase followed after with the “weekend update” and said ‘Mere moments ago character actor Buck Henry was cut by a drug crazed and incoherent sword wielding John Belushi’.
Sure enough in the next scene with Buck he had a bandage on his forehead.

It wasn't the skit that struck me funny near as much as the Chevy Chase impromptu commentary that followed it!!
Watched the first two seasons of SNL on netflix. Very good stuff, very bad stuff, very much hit and miss; but the musical guests were simply amazing.

Ah, those were the days. I tried running a character chaotic evil once, found that I just couldn’t consistently do it. I then learned to really worry about those who could do it and enjoy it.

I guess the 15.28 % Hispanic/Latino are counted within the other racial groups because 81.47% + 4.99% + 1.13% + 1.84% + 0.24% + 6.12% + 4.21% = 100%.

I was once in a campaign with what turned out to be some lawful evil characters. Who, of course, backstabbed my character at the last minute and took all the loot. The DM flubbed a couple of things and my (thankfully, secondary) character died.
Some time later I found myself in another game with the same characters (and players) when I was running my primary character. Who just happened to be a 18th level rogue masquerading as a 10th level.
Shortly after entering the dungeon, I made sure those two characters met very bad permanent ends and blamed it on “traps”.
Those two idiots didn’t come to our gaming group after that.

If Im right about his citizenship status, he must have at least held some specialization in wilderness survival skills. Maybe he rode in a toyata packed with 20 other people. That would make him an acrobat/clown. Isn't that a sub class of the Rogue?
