My only concern is that once the election is over, they’ll go back to business as usual.
They know the American people are p!ssed about this and could just be throwing us a bone for now.

I believe the fix is in for amnesty, so I have to lean in your direction on this point. I would have to agree this is quite likely smoke and mirrors.

Of the millions and millions of illegals, they get a few thousand, and that is a couple thousand more than last year. 40% is a meaningless number when you are talking about 0.01% of the total number of illegals. Actually, estimating 20 million illegals in the US, 7,500 = 0.00036%, a miniscule figure at best. Now if they were up 400% from last year, it might be closer to being worth talking about.Reminds me of gas prices...It goes up a dollar then drops .5 cents....Goes up 2 dollars, and then drops a dime.

Another reason ICE numbers are up here in the Pacific NorthWest is the amount of illegals is way up as well...
Just ten years ago they were barely visible, staying close to the Ag work areas. Nowadays they are EVERYWHERE! Especially in the construction trades... truly makes me ill.
With that said, I whole heartily say Bravo! To ICE in their recent efforts!

Nationwide, more than 234,000 people have been deported this fiscal year compared to about 210,000 at this time last year.A 10% increase in deportations?
Better than nothing I guess, but color me unimpressed.

As far as they have gone, I do too. For what they are not doing, I must say I have noticed and cannot get too worked up.
Is what they have done good. Hell yes.
I appreciate your comments.

Correct, I can see the groundwork being laid for the next attempt at amnesty with some nice sounding name.
The BP supervisors are very concerned that their funding will be cut drastically by the next congress, and president.
