McCain Mistakenly Refers to Defunct Czechoslovakia at Town Hall Meeting

In a townhall meeting held Tuesday in Albuquerque, N.M., John McCain mistakenly referred to current events in Czechoslovakia, a country that ceased to exist in 1993 after separating into the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

McCain expressed “regret some of the recent behavior that Russia has exhibited…including reduction in oil supplies to Czechoslovakia.”

Obama was on larry king saying that there was no truth to the rumors he was raised as a muslim. He just happened to go to koranic study classes and can still recite the Islamic call to prayer in Arabic.

A President who is 15-years out-of-date? I could see that being an issue....

That said, I don’t think this particular issue will be that important. I’d be surprised if 25% of Americans could point out the Czech Republic on a map.

That said, Vaclav Klaus, the Czech Republic’s President, is by far my favorite national leader in this world. He’s one cool cat.

I'm no rah! rah! fan of McCain but if you grew up knowing a place on the map was called Czechoslovakia you may slip up and call it that again occasionally. I have...but I'm not running for President. (However if I was offered the VP position...;’)
