Offend a homosexual ... Go to prison for 5 years
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | July 16, 2008

Christians will face prison for speaking out against homosexuality if Brazil's Senate passes a bill approved unanimously by its House of Representatives.

The measure is considered the country's newest attempt to promote homosexuality, disguised as an act to prevent discrimination, the Catholic News Agency reports.

If anyone prevents actions of "homosexual affection" in public or private locations open to the public, they could face up to five years in prison for doing so, the Association of the Defense of Life reports.

The bill also seeks to penalize private and public school administrators with up to three years in prison if they refuse to hire openly "gay" teachers.

According to the CNA, the measure will force prison time for any "moral, ethical, philosophical or psychological expression that questions homosexual practices."

The ADL claims the bill could spell disaster for churches and teachers.

"[A] priest, a pastor, a teacher or even an average citizen who says in a sermon, a classroom or public conversation that homosexual acts are sinful, disordered or an illness could be denounced and detained," the association said.

Brazil always was a society of switch hitters.

This just makes it official.

“Coming to a government near you?”

Yep, this is what happens when you combine a heavy-handed pinko government with Hollywood morals.

I have spent quite a bit of time in Brazil. I can’t imagine this going over well with the rural population but they are a minority now.

How...funny....as if the Law of Cause and Effect can somehow be suspended by legislative fiat, the way I see it, the Brazil Legislature is removing the only thing that can even bother to try and prevent the negative health and mental sanctions that engaging in homosexuality imposes.

There is nothing less compassionate then censoring people who would actually try to warn homosexuals of the consequences of their actions, it would be like removing the warnings from a pack of cigarettes...

I have to wonder why governments all over the world are using their power to force normal people to accept an abnormal lifestyle as normal.
Is it because marxists have infiltrated governments and are using their positions to further marxist agendas?

The original article: Brazilian law would prohibit Christian teaching on homosexuality
Rio de Janeiro, Jul 15, 2008 / 01:36 pm (CNA).- The Brazilian Senate is considering a bill approved unanimously and without debate by the country’s House of Representatives that aims to promote homosexuality and prohibit Christian teaching on the issue, under the guise of combating discrimination.

According to the Association of the Defense of Life, the bill would make it crime punishable by five years in prison to impede expressions of “homosexual affection” in public places or private places open to the public.

It would also punish those who deny employment openly homosexual teachers in schools with up to three years imprisonment, making it impossible for Catholic or Christian schools to prevent homosexuals from joining their faculties.

The bill would also impose prison sentences on any kind of moral, ethical, philosophical or psychological expression that questions homosexual practices. In this way, “a priest, a pastor, a teacher or even an average citizen who says in a sermon, a classroom or public conversation that homosexual acts are sinful, disordered or an illness could be denounced and detained,” the association said.

I sure wish World Nut Daily would do their own reporting…or at least include hotlinks to their sources. Just one more reason why I don't care for the rag.

There goes Copacabana Beach.

If the language ,"actions of "homosexual affection" in public", is accurate, then any public area is open for visual pollution.

I wonder why Brazil is like that. I always thought most Latin American countries were morally conservative because of their Catholic roots.

Utterly ridiculous. The gay activists absolutely do not believe in fundamental human rights like freedom of speech, conscience, association and religion.

For any hispanics left on freerepublic its helpful to read a book by Bernal Diaz called the “Conquest of New Spain”. He was Cortez’s oldest lieutenant. His book was not translated into english until the 1980’s.

Everyone reads of the Aztec’s human sacrifice. It is thought that their many enemies were caused by the human sacrifice.

There was another reason.

Aztec priests would “act up” right in front of Cortez and his men. Cortez reaction was just the same as Joshua in the old testament when confronted with the same thing.

The drift of world culture of course is toward more of the same.

Coming to a government near you?

If you were on a battlefield, and you turned and shot one of your comrades, would that be constructive?

What if, during a particularly trying time, you continually told him his fight was a lost cause? Would that be constructive? Honorable?

We're in a culture war. A spiritual war.

Now, do I need to draw you a map?

Keywords: -None-
Description: -None-
Body: 7 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved

I'm not particularly upset with WND over this article. I am unimpressed with the rag, as a whole. From what I've seen, they rip too much material off, not attribute properly the articles they don't totally rip off (like this one), and much of the "original" stuff that I've seen from them is tin-foil-hat worthy.

Personally, I would not ever use that source for any kind of credible thread: the closest I would do is find the original and use that article.
