Still, that'd be 5.2%. What was US GPA growth over the same time period?

The Chinese commies are busy sinking our ship by "out Capitalising" us while our homegrown commies in Congress make sure they keep both feet on our economic brake pedal.

When China adopted a market economy back in the late 70s, no one figured it would grow as impressively as it has. Under Mao, it was a poor country with very little in the way of tapping the talents of its people. That changed under Deng and his successors. Napoleon warned of the Awakening Dragon. China is coming of age.

Chinese “quality” will eventually slow growth to a crawl.

I needed some cookware. I had put it off as long as I could and admit to breaking down and buying a set of Chinese pots by “HOME COLLECTION”. I admit they look good, work well and I have not found any rough edges. So, where is this little story going? They came with nice glass tops. The glass top have stainless knobs that are fastened on with screws. I have owned then for less than 5 weeks and EVERY DAMN SCREW that holds the knobs onto the tops has rusted. They were made of soft steel and not stainless! I have replaced all of them with 302-304 stainless screws.

China's downfall will be this: most manufactures are more than willing to “cheap out” what ever they make.

Get your head out of the sand and face facts. We gave them the means of manufacturing and American companies are STILL building new plants and R&D centers in China in droves. GM and FORD have record profits from their Chinese operations.

All 3 American US auto companies are building plants and R&D centers in China and we know wjat they are doing in the US.

Did you not see the news the other day where caterpillar is building their new small excavator plant in China?? What is going to happen to the American plant???

Also there is a huge factual error in the article. The GDP of China is not 11.9 trillion dollars it is more like 3.5 trillion dollars at best. I has seen this 11.9 trillions dollars figure used by some the most reliable statistics such as the World bank shows a much lower figure for China GDP somewhere in the vicinity of 2.7 trillions dollars in 2006 so at best it would not be be more than 3.5 trillions for 2008.

China fails to mention that their 3.5 trillion dollar GDP took almost 80% as much energy to produce as our 13 trillion dollar GDP. Don’t trust the Chinese EVER. It is all smoke and mirrors!

I think you “has” need of getting your eyes checked. The figure 11.9 trillion doesn’t even appear in the article.
