This now available from the U.S. State Department: "2009 Mosques of America Wall Calendar: Limited Edition for Ramadan."
"Yep, you read that correctly. It's 'perfect for Muslim outreach efforts," according to a commentary at the Gates of Vienna blog. "Where's the ACLU on this one?"

The product was being advertised by "Global Publishing Solutions," a division of the U.S. State Department, until bloggers started talking about it.
Officials then apparently hid the page behind the security of a password-protected wall. However, the page is still viewable in a Google cache of the website.

The actual State Dept page can still be found on:
The United States needs to retake D.C.
I got my pop gun. Let's go.
Actually, this kind of thing gives me more impetus to pursue a law degree and enter constitutional law so maybe I really could go after these guys. How I would love to.
It’s ‘perfect for Muslim outreach efforts,”.....
Jeez! This crappola gets more wonderful by the minute. Another episode of Twilight Zone!
Duncan Hunter was right when he referred to the State Dept as “reluctant Nellies”.
Bush’s fault (for real this time)
What the h*** is the State Department anyway? What’s its function? Is it in the Constitution? (I’m almost certain its not in the Constitution.)
There should be an investigation and charges of sedition brought.
appeasement?
What do you suggest?
...all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
In the light of continuous attacks on America including 911 by Islamists, Islamist leaders and Islamist countries' statements of war against America, our war against these same Islamists, as well as known anti-American activies that take place inside many of these mosques, this kind of behavior by U.S. Government officials should be at least considered mischievous and seditious and should be grounds for their impeachment and removal.
There are millions of peaceful, law abiding Muslims in America who want nothing more than to live in peace, raise their kids and be left alone...just like most Americans.
If you're going to defeat you're enemy you have to understand who is you're enemy. It doesn't make sense to lump ALL muslims in with the whackos because that only increases you're enemies numbers by tenfold.
All this type of rhetoric does is take our focus off the real enemy and reduces our chances of success when we do find them and need to eradicate them.
Islam needs to change but we're not going to do it, Islam will have to change from within and it's counterproductive to make enemies of the ones who will be called upon to do it.
The issue is
1 - Mosques are representative of the Islamist terrorist groups America is at war with. This is mischief and seditious behavior by the State Department. This would be like the U.S. government printing and promoting the greatest German athletes and architecture during WWII - they would have been immediately removed and/or tried for treason or at least sedition,
2 - Mosques in the U.S. present a clear and present danger because some are known hotbeds of recruitment and discipling of anti-American Sharia Law and Islamic terrorist training.
Somali criminals are being imported to this country - and this after "Black Hawk Down," many public schools have special programs on Muslims. etc.
I agree with you on Mosques for the most part. However, another point is...doesn’t this cross the state/church separation line?
No matter how you bleach, sometimes those roots just show through.
I oppose them because they cannot be loyal to the Constitution period.
I doubt it. GPS appears to be a division of the State department, their official in house printing organization. I would assume they have many calendars to fit the regions the State Dept. works, expecially their diplomatic corps. It appears they use this as a gift or promotional item, like many businesses do, for employees, clients, state officials and employees from other governments. It wouldn’t be advisable to offer calendars of the Amish to say Saudi, Kuwaiti or Arab Emerites embassy employees or officials.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a calendar of Christian or Jewish holy sites as well. This is another tempest in a tea pot being orchestrated by World Nut Daily to increase circulation and they target it at uneductaed, knuckle dragging, ignorant fools who are easily manipulated.
You’re response shows you are part of the dumbed down, ignorant, easily agitated and manipulated pool of fools that masquerade as conservatives.
Let me guess, you also subscribe to the slogan “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”.
I’m certain that irony will be lost on you.
“I oppose them because they cannot be loyal to the Constitution period.”
Maybe, but neither do other the Amish or Seventh Day Adventists (I believe). Many sects of christianity do not allow any subservience of any kind to stand above the Word of God (as they see it).
But your statement also demonstrates your ignorance of the Constitution which does not demand loyalty, only observance, which if you violate could subject one to our system of justice and possibly loss of freedom, stuff or life.
NOTE - Loyalty oaths are a feature of most despotic regimes, including the Nazis. Anytime I hear someone advocating any kind of forced loyalty I keep them at the end of a ten foot pole because they are of the same mindset.
guess someone wasn’t happy about people seeing it...
On the contrary it displays your ignorance of both the Constitution and Christianity.
Some refuse to pledge allegiance to the flag, but they obey the law and defend the constitution. Sharia Law supersedes all manmade laws, that includes the Constitution.
If you think a devout Muslim can take this oath, and keep it, you are naive.
Citizenship oath
I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.
Military Oath of Allegance
I, [name], do solemnly swear, (or affirm,) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. (So help me God.)
Good one Bob. When you can’t win the debate on the issue at hand, go into personal attack and also change the subject. Such an old liberal methodology, showing the sad lack of substance in your position.
Looks like the State Department took it down to try to cover up further embarrassment. However, the original article in this thread captured a picture of the web page.
Your statements defy any personal attack and stand nakedly and ignorantly on their own.
Boobs like you will cartwheel millions of innocent people into and unending and unwinnable war with Islam. You of course will be drunkenly cheering from your easy chair with a Bud in each hand.
“Looks like the State Department took it down to try to cover up further embarrassment. However, the original article in this thread captured a picture of the web page.”
Now you got the State Dept. right where you want them...I’m sure they’re shuddering with fear.
Bob J's response: Your statements defy any personal attack and stand nakedly and ignorantly on their own.
Brilliant Bob. True liberalism at work for all to see. When liberalism's arguments fail, then continue the personal attacks and subject-changing methodology. Your responses to my argument above shows what it expected of dyed-in-the-wool liberals: ignorance, mean-spiritedness, and the Tyranny of Liberalism ("we don't have to explain our stand - political correctness needs no explanation").
I'm sure those running the State Dept. are both ignorant and afraid, Bob. Especially with people like you running it.
Why do all the guys in double-wides think they’re an expert on Islam? I don’t respond to your comments because they are so freakin’ dumb I’d have to split my brain in half just to post an answer on a level that you’d understand.
You don’t know shiite about this struggle, you don’t shiite about Islam, you don’t know shiite about military engagement.
You just sit there with that stupid Bud hat with two straws going into your mouth spouting crappy nonsense about going to war with 1 billion people because you know you’ll never have to see the front lines of such a battle.
It’s okay with you that the rest of us send out loved ones, sons, daughters, nephews, nieces, to do the dirty work you demand in your absolute ignorance and hypocrisy.
When you volunteer for the armed forces and get sent to Iraq, then you can talk about how we need adopt such a strategy, until then shut your pie hole and be happy others are putting relatives in harms way so you can get drunk on that 12 pack of Pabst every night.
BTW - You’re also too dumb or lazy to even check my profile. Someone challenges your absurd opinions and you immediately lurch to the idiotic “you a liberal, boy” defense.
What a ass.
Boobs like me have kept the US safe for idiotic cowards to blather a way about wars that can't be won, because we have cowards serving in congress trying to tell the war fighters how they must lose the war.
There is no war we can't win, we just lack the will to do so, I have no such reservations against the enemy that is at war with us, and they are at war, whether you see it or not.
Now take your "Better Red Than Dead" philosophy and put it where the sun don't shine.
Bob, you probably have something meaningful and coherent to say, but you haven’t said it yet. Your rude and insulting comments are unappreciated. I’m done trying to reason with such hostility - tell it to your Islamo-fascist buddies.
You haven’t challenged anything. Your arguments were and continue to be vitriolic personal attacks. Your responses indicate you’re in league with the crazy, wild, and dangerously hostile Islamo-fascists.
