Barack Obama wants to speak at the Brandenburg Gate. He figures it would be a nice backdrop. The supporting cast - a cheering audience and a few fainting frauleins - would be a picturesque way to bolster his foreign policy credentials.
What Obama does not seem to understand is that the Brandenburg Gate is something you earn. President Ronald Reagan earned the right to speak there because his relentless pressure had brought the Soviet empire to its knees and he was demanding its final "tear down this wall" liquidation. When President John F. Kennedy visited the Brandenburg Gate on the day of his "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, he was representing a country that was prepared to go to the brink of nuclear war to defend West Berlin.
Who is Obama representing? And what exactly has he done in his lifetime to merit appropriating the Brandenburg Gate as a campaign prop? What was his role in the fight against communism, the liberation of Eastern Europe, the creation of what George Bush 41 - who presided over the fall of the Berlin Wall but modestly declined to go there for a victory lap - called "a Europe whole and free"?

I don’t know that much about Obama’s background, but I did notice in our Florida paper that there was a headline touting Obama’s sister coming to Florida to campaign for him. (half sister, I’m assuming)

This is a half sister, much younger than he is which especially since she is female and the daughter of a Muslim, leaves him as only child. He also has a half brother, also Muslim, with whom he has no relationship. Met as adults.

Oh, now wait a minute. You don’t think the networks aren’t going to re-run the B&W Kennedy newsreels of his speech & attempt to draw favorable comparisons? You don’t think the same thing isn’t going to be crammed into your school-age child’s head?
Obama doesn’t need to actually tell the Media what is expected of them in order for them to manipulate the symbols to show him in a favorable light.

....I can’t get a copy of “Triunph of the Will” from Netflix...anybody got any ideas of where to obtain one?

...looks like Netflix has now stopped shipping it....the timing seems curious, especially with the BHO rally coming up in Mile High Stadium.
