LOS ANGELES -- American Airlines Flight 725, scheduled to fly nonstop from Boston to Los Angeles on Friday, was diverted to Oklahoma City after a disruptive passenger took his clothes off and had to be subdued.

I saw a woman take her clothes off once on a bus.
There was “weather” in DFW and we got diverted to beautiful, glamorous Longview Texas for about an hour.
Then the fuel truck came out. Hoo boy. I was all in a dither.
They did open the door and let some fresh air in and we were allowed to stand up and move about the miniscule RJ (that's airline talk for “Regional Jet” (a little ER4 Embraer)cabin. They said if we were going to be there for more than an hour, that they would order pizza for us. Who says AA doesn’t have a heart?!
Wait, it gets better, after we took off, they served us free juice or water! Can you stand it!
We were kinda hoping that Madonna, Britney or some other “celebrity” was going to show up and cause a scene but all we saw was some loose cattle roaming the runway in Longview. They mighta been those cows that try and talk you into “eatin’ more chikken” or something like that.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “LOS ANGELES — An American Airlines flight from Boston to LAX was diverted to Oklahoma City on Friday after a passenger stripped, put his clothes back on and then tried to open an emergency exit door.
American Flight 725, a Boeing 757 with 151 passengers and seven crew on board, arrived in Oklahoma City at 1:35 p.m. CDT and was back in the air an hour later on the way to Los Angeles, said Tim Smith, a spokesman for American Airlines.”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “According to Johnson, the passenger emerged from a bathroom without his clothes on.
“He was asked to go back to the bathroom to put his clothes on and he did and went back to his seat and then allegedly attempted to open an aircraft emergency exit door,” Johnson said.
“Members of the Major League Soccer team, the New England Revolution, were on the flight. They were able to subdue him,” he said.”

Avoid the jet stream is the likely answer. Distance may be greater but flight time less, resulting in less fuel burned.
