Pelosi: Bush 'a total failure' (Nancy the disgrace...)
CNN News ^ | July 18, 2008 | Alexander Mooney

Posted on 07/18/2008 4:57:38 PM PDT by yoe

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called President Bush "a total failure" on Thursday, among the California Democrat's harshest assessments to date of the president.

"God bless him, bless his heart, president of the United States -- a total failure, losing all credibility with the American people on the economy, on the war, on energy, you name the subject," Pelosi told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in an exclusive interview.

The comments came two days after the president sharply criticized Congress over what he described as relative inaction over the course of the legislative term. At the White House on Wednesday, Bush noted that there were only 26 legislative days left in the fiscal year and said Congress would need to pass a spending bill every other day to "get their fundamental job done."

"This is not a record to be proud of, and I think the American people deserve better," Bush said.

In the interview, Pelosi said the president was in no position to criticize Congress and brushed aside the criticisms as "something to talk about because he has no ideas."

"For him to be challenging Congress when we are trying to sweep up after his mess over and over and over again -- at the end of the day, Congress will have passed its responsibility to pass legislation," she said. iReport.com: Why isn't impeachment on the table?

But Pelosi's comments come as a new Gallup poll registers the lowest level of congressional approval among Americans in the polling organization's 30-year history of conducting that survey.

[snip] "Thirty-three million acres offshore are allowed for leasing," she said. "And we're saying to them, use it or lose it. You have the opportunity to drill there. When you have exhausted those remedies, then you can talk about something else."

If Ms. 9% herself has managed to accomplish anything, that would be raising the bar very, very high for the next female House Speaker.

One is reminded of the criticisms that followed Abraham Lincoln all the years of his term as President.

Everybody recalls President Lincoln. His critics are, at best, footnotes in history, and most of them were swiftly forgotten.

For all Queen Bee Nanacy’s “accomplishments”, she, too, shall be a footnote in history. With an asterisk by her name.

But being able to etch glass with her urine, that would be pretty good.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called President Bush "a total failure"

It is what's become of the once-great Democrat Party.

Once there was respect and dignity on both sides of the aisle.

Now, the Democrats have degenerated into spite-filled blames, Stalinist accusations, and hysterical name-calling.

This, my dear FRiends, is just how Democrats will govern, should they get the POTUS and both Houses of Congress.

Oh, I agree. Impeachment should be on the table, but it should be Nancy and most of the RATS who are getting impeached. They're guilty of treason, and should be hanged. She's the biggest airhead in congress. What really scares me is that she's third in line for President if something happened to Bush and Cheney. Even the thought of Obama and Pelosi with the RATS in total control makes me think we're going to have a revolution. Americans have been pushed to the breaking point with this corrupt government.

What I would like to see is every Republican who is running for Congress, whether they be an incumbant or a challenger, promise to vote to allow offshore drilling and KEEP that promise. I doubt Madam Speaker would be speaker any longer if that happened.

This Liberal congress, led by San Francisco Pelosi, is the worst ever. Give them 2 years and they’ll wreck a country. They also lied there way into power. They promised to end the war in Iraq, reduce the price of gas, and end corrurption. The War in Iraq rages on, the price of gas has more than doubled, andcorruption is worse than ever. Shocker, not one spineless RINO would bring this up.

For 8 years GWB never fought back against this slander. He just keeps the kick me sign on his back.

Ah, bless her little heart, Nancy tries to be a good Catholic grammy, trying to lead a party which favors abortion, and everything gay and perverse, and she’s a national politician who is ultimately dependent on the choice of an electoral district which contains a majority of weird folks who hate this country; and Nancy married well so she is rich as hell, but wants to be seen as the leader of the poor peoples’ party. She’s almost as old as the opposition party’s candidate for president, but she looks way older, as if she might be dying her hair, botoxing her wrinkles, and blow-drying her soul. In several years at the helm she hasn’t accomplished baboon-scat and can see that she never will. She and Reid, the emaciated, have led Congress to as low a rating as it has ever had, and probably as low as it will ever get, considering that a certain percentage of the population is clinically depressed at any given time. Too skinny to be a turkey, but with skinny arms and legs which rule out her being a snake, she’s at the top of her game, not snake, not turkey, but not respected. On the other hand, she apparently is not queer, lesbian or something else non-heterosexual, so she can’t just give it up and go back where she came from, she’s too ugly for Hollywood, too stupid for the networks, her husband certainly is content with her where she is— she’s out of the house, but easy to keep an eye on since she is a prominent public figurine, and meanwhile he can do whatever he wants to there in San Francisco, which certainly can provide amply for the wants and needs of a lot of strange men.

A half-century from now, Bush will be favorably recalled; but Nancy Pelosi will be remembered as the first woman to hold a really significant elected position in the greatest country in the world who couldn’t accomplish anything worthwhile.

I’ve often argued that America is more than ready for a female president, but then Pelosi comes along a makes a good argument for taking away women’s right to vote. It’s not always cream that rises to the top. In her case, she is the stuff floating around in the bowl before the flush.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called President Bush "a total failure" on Thursday

So what does that make the Speaker, given that congressional approval ratings are around a third of Bush's?

She's about as dumb as Babs Boxer.

As I've asked my liberal "friends" on more than one occasion while they're in the midst of an anti-Bush rant...

Could someone please...PLEASE, do a Nexus-Lexus search or something similar to find ONE instance...just ONE...in which GWB spoke about his political opponents the way they regularly speak of him?

I'm thinking anyone involved in such a search would be quite frustrated.

On the contrary, GWB has, much to my chagrin, frequently PRAISED the likes of Ted Kennedy and (OMG) Donna Shalala among many others.

Nancy Pelosi can KMA.

I guess, at 67 I'm still very naive.

I had no idea during either previous GOP lead Congress’, or past RAT lead Congress’, that the Speaker of the House had such great authority as to be able to singlehandedly decide which potential legislation would be able to come to the House floor for a potential vote.

Stupid me, I had thought that this process was more “civilized”!, and Roberts Law based.

Has Pelosi brought the House to a new biased low???

I sent her this e-mail:

“You are a disgrace to our country. To launch a personal attack on the President and claim to be speaking for “all the American people” is appalling. You are the one who promised that the Dems had an energy policy that would lower the gas prices and then promptly let them go up exponentially. It’s amazing the big jump came after you became speaker of the house. It’s time to get off your high horse and do what the American people really want. From everything I’ve read the American people want to drill for more gas, in new places, not the ones where the leases (which, incidentally, expire if the oil companies don’t develop them already and don’t need another bill put in place for this) have already been issued. If there were oil there, common sense tells you they would be drilling already. So, do your job, remove the moratorium and let them do their jobs.”
