Court-appointed child advocates for a 16-year-old daughter of Fundamentalist LDS Church leader Warren Jeffs allege she was married a day after her 15th birthday to a 34-year-old man, a court report obtained by the Deseret News said.
. . . snip . . .
It based its conclusions on photographs, marriage records, letters, cards and diary entries suggesting an "intimate relationship." CASA also said it had obtained a "dictation" prepared by Warren Jeffs, showing the two were married on July 27, 2006. FLDS leaders Wendell Nielson and Merril Jessop witnessed the ceremony, CASA claims.
. . . snip . . .
"The dictation indicates that Teresa's own father officiated over the marriage and further indicates that Annette Jeffs actively encouraged and participated in carrying out the marriage between a barely 15-year-old Teresa and a 34-year-old adult male, who has been identified to CASA as Raymond Jessop," the report said.

A call to an FLDS spokesman was not immediately returned late Friday.

Put the pervert in jail for 25 years.
Dad, who 'marries' her off . . . I wonder what # she is
Mom, who actively encouraged and participated
Raymond, the lucky 'husband"
The witnesses, Wendell Nielson and Merril Jessop. Raymond is Merill's son.
Note: One of the girls (I think the 12 year old) in the photos of Warren Jeffs with his child brides is Merril's daughter. They trade their daughters to each other like baseball cards.
“”The dictation indicates that Teresa’s own father officiated over the marriage and further indicates that Annette Jeffs actively encouraged and participated in carrying out the marriage between a barely 15-year-old Teresa and a 34-year-old adult male, who has been identified to CASA as Raymond Jessop,” the report said.”
Hmmmmmmm.....
They have that TV show where they get a bunch of guys to come to a house, on the pretense a 15 year old girl is waiting for them. And they put them in jail, just for showing up.
Here, Raymond, 34, is given the 15 year old by her father, and yet many say, “just leave these poor people alone”.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.........
I guess you can get a lot of loyalty, by handing out one virgin ‘each’, or promising 72 female virgins after death.
“Willie Jessop, a spokesman for the F.L.D.S. group, said that to his knowledge there was no credible evidence that accusations of sexual abuse relating to the child in the court order were true. He said the girls lawyer was pursuing an agenda, and that the girls mother had tried to find other counsel.
What we have in this situation is a very disappointing attorney who is pushing a different agenda than what her client wants, Mr. Jessop said. He said he did not know exactly what the relationship was between Raymond Jessop and the girl,”

Sects center of federal investigationWASHINGTON - The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will be the subject of a Senate Judiciary Committee July 24 probe, possibly looking into organized crime and other federal crimes among polygamous sects.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has long sought more federal involvement in investigating polygamous sects, will testify at the hearing and will also introduce a bill next week to create a federal task force.
"His ultimate goal is to step up enforcement of the crimes that are committed in these polygamous sects," said Jon Summers, spokesman for the Democratic senator from Nevada.
Reid ultimately would like to have a federal task force to partner with states to step up enforcement, Summers said.

“I don’t think that Warren Jeffs is even around. Lyle Jeffs is doing the same thing that Warren started..”all in the name of the holy prophet and the calling that has been given me”. I doubt that Warren is even in the country and even if he is “Uncle Lyle” has more pull with the people than he does.
I know that the everyday matters don’t get to Warren, Lyle acts on his own concience and he is worse than 10 of Warren Jeffs.”

I think it’s interesting to go back 3 years, and see what people had to say about the FLDS and Warren, back then.
Gives credence to the idea that this just didn’t happen ‘out of the blue’, and ‘for no reason’, as some would suggest.
FLDS Prophet Warren Jeffs may be behind bars in Utah, but his followers continue with their work on the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado, Texas where the group’s white limestone Temple towers over the town they are building. Polygamy, the practice of plural marriage, appears to be alive and well in the Lone Star State, despite laws to the contrary.

Who decided that hair is holy?
I am totally fascinated by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for multiple (poly?) reasons, so when the recent polygamy-child-abuse scandal broke out in Texas, I was hooked.
I hung on every piece of information released about the huge white temple, pristine compound grounds, secret wives, questionable family relationships and controlling religious beliefs.
But what really got me were the bright-colored, frontier-style dresses and carefully sculpted bouffant hairdos worn by the compounds female inhabitants.
The compounds dress code got me wondering: Who decided this was going to be the Holy Hairstyle? And who decided that the stairway to heaven demands pioneer styles in pastel? Who prophesied thou hair shall make a giant swoop and thy dresses shall be appropriate for celebrating Easter?
Lets examine this for a moment. Somebody, somewhere in the FLDS church sat down and decided that to be a Non-Heathen, you must look this way. And in my opinion, that look is not super-modest. Its more the look Id imagine Amy Winehouse would adopt if she were a character on Little House on the Prairie. It tempts one to say, Hey, ladies, Laura Ingalls Wilder called and she wants her dresses back. But not in those colors.
This fashion sense confuses me. I understand the Amish style the colors, hairstyles and apparel all scream simplicity.
On the other hand, the FLDS style seems comparable to a lime-green burqa. Both make a loud statement and that statement is Hey! Look at me! Im being extremely modest.
What would you call this style if you were to throw a party and wanted to list the attire on the invitation? Not Dressy Casual. Maybe Flashy Modest.
If I wanted to be that kind of modest, I would be out of luck. That hairdo looks like it requires time I dont have and an odd and misplaced form of vanity. Id be the hoochie mama of the compound, because my hairs too flat.
I never heard of these people before the raid and had scant to no intrest in the LDS - which seems to be getting more jittery as the days pass: Do Mormons Practice Polygamy?
Do you think if polgamy became legal in the future that the LDS church would change its current stance?
“In an article by Martha Barlow Jessop, when one reads between the lines, one realizes that some of what Flora says is the absolute truth. Aunt Martha explains how she seemed to be a happy healthy child untill about 10 when she started acting out, needing attention. signs something went wrong in her life about then. (http://www.truthwillprevail.org/index.php?parentid=1&index=45)
When you read how Teresa Jeffs climbs a tree when she feels noone is noticing her...wow who interferred with this child.”
And the reports were that when the FLDS women and Teresa had to wait at the Grand Jury hearings, Teresa climbed a tree.
Is that where she goes when she is scared?
“”For sure, when (all) the DNA tests come back, we’ll have a better idea” of parentage and whether any of the alleged sexual abuse occurred, Malonis said. “There’s going to be some evidence before long that gets out into the public domain. There are other children who are similarly situated to mine.”

I'd like to hear Dr. Dan Fischer speak, I believe he's accepted an invitation to appear. He left the sect voluntarily and has used own money to help those kicked out.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
I think they have that style, because it is what the Men wanted.
I’d go into the psychological reasons that the dominant males of the pack want the females to all appear as modest virgins, but you know what that would get me.
“Do you think if polgamy became legal in the future that the LDS church would change its current stance?”
I don’t know. If I were LDS, I might have a better understanding of their ‘teachings’, and could give an opinion.
my guess, hairspray...they have a hairspray factory hidden in the compound. :P
However, I have learned since moving to Texas that no amount of hairspray will keep even the slightest wave in my hair...so...maybe it’s something else.
I know I’d need sister wives too though if I had to get my hair to do that every morning, and I only have 2 little ones running about. If I had 4 or more kids...I’d probably have a perma-ponytail because I’d not have time to do much more than brush my hair. Maybe I’d even have to pull a Britney? lol
In a Dec. 27, 2006 entry, the girl wrote "The Lord blessed me to go forward in marriage July 27, 2006, the day after I turned 15 years old."
This girl has been brainwashed!
http://www.myeldorado.net/YFZ%20Pages/YFZ120204.html
Interesting info from DEC. 02, 2004.
Seems Raymond Jessop presided over the YFZ Land purchase.
At least they are taking care of their own.
There are Jr. High and High school girls all over San Diego area with 1,2,&3 kids and no one does a thing about it.
“This girl has been brainwashed!”
Now, the FLDS defenders will state that there is NO PROOF he consumated(sp?) the marriage.
How many kids does she have?
Oh, I forgot, she says she has none.
I wonder.....
So, two wrongs make a right?
Does her hubby have other wives?
You mean Raymond?
That’s what I’ve been searching for.
It seems only a part of the Bishop’s log was allowed to be released to the public.
I have a feeling the part that is sealed, was linked to at least the individuals in this instance.
How many years has it been and I can still remember every single word.
Well gee if you know if any who were raped please report it.
I really don’t see a wrong unless she was forced into it.
I had a sister in law,who passed away a few months ago @ 72 that got pregnant and married @ 16 in 1952.
He became a doctor and they had 4 kids that they raised to be good citizens.
The oldest son spent 10 years flying for the Navy and has been flying for Delta for over 20 years. Their daughter is maried to a retired VP of Sears. $2 son is a gemolgist and owns a jewlery store. Their youngest son is a Captain in the Navy and also a Navy pilot.
Getting married @ 15 or 16 isn’t all that bad.
“I really dont see a wrong unless she was forced into it.”
Minors legally can’t give consent.
That’s one of my favorite songs
The parallels are cracking me up.
Note the “prophet” in the window.
And that will always be one of my favorite songs. Frankly, it is brilliant. The movie is ...odd...to say the least, but I LOVE the music.
Well, well, well.
2 cases so far:
Case #1
2 ½ year old girl
Janet Jeffs, the mother, was not in the courtroom, but she and her attorney spoke via speakerphone from Austin, TX. Janet and her child are living together at a shelter in Austin. There were questions about whether Janet was a minor, but at this mornings hearing the state agreed to accept the fact the she was over 18. The mothers court-appointed attorney had to withdraw from the case because she was assigned to represent Janet as a minor. The judge has given Janet a week to find an attorney who will represent her as an adult.
Janet says she last saw the father, Raymond Jessop, about a year ago at the ranch. No one knows where he is now.

I once had a dog who thought his purpose in life was to save me from drowning. If he saw me in the water, he'd swim out, grab a braid and drag me to shore.
I saw that, but I can’t remember what year, or in what venue.
You lost me - who is Janet?
(Othe than the Rocky Horror allegory)
How is the girl now? Is she happy? does she want a divorce from her husband? How did the marriage turn out? Lots of 15 year olds get married (mostly to men closer to their own age) and it doesn’t work out. How does she feel about this now? What is religion to one is brainwashing to another.
I think there's a discussion about that on the Texas Polygamy site. All agreed that Flora had been sexually abused and thought it probably began when she was about 10-years-old . . . about the same time she began acting out.
Teresa's a beautiful girl.

Most of the articles at Truth Will Prevail are written by Donald Richter. He's ex-FLDS and lives in Short Creek. In one of his essays he mentions that he has several children who were living at YFZ. No mention of his wife/wives. I'm assuming he's 'repenting from afar' (by writing pro-FLDS pieces) and his wife/wives and children were given to another man at the ranch.
Well, except those who are bleeding the beast. Many of the men living at the ranch left lots of surplus wives and children to fend for themselves back in Short Creek.
Give me a break! The men have been watching these little girls growing up, knowing that one day . . .
They've been drooling over the girls for years, tripping over themselves to stay in favor with the prophet in hopes of getting more and more.
Hubby is old enough to be her father. I'll go out on a limb and say "yes".
Getting married is one thing. Being given to some guy who already had 10 or 12 or 42 other "wives" is another.
You're coming up with some very interesting stuff. Keep up the good work!
