While the European leg of Barack Obamas much-touted overseas trip will take him to nations where hes vastly more popular than John McCain, Obama is not nearly as well liked in Israel. Polls there show Israelis prefer John McCain by as much as 20 percentage points.

I would prefer McCain if I were Israeli, being that Hamas endorsed the other guy.

It should be more than 20 points - then again, McCain’s only a centrist.

Would you say that any American politician who says, “President Mahmoud Abbas, is a man of peace”, is sucking up to terrorists?

Netanyahu will not mix words with the Obama. Netanyahu may put the Obama in a head lock.

Israelis see Bush as having been better to Israel than almost any president before has been, said Albert Baumgarten, a Jewish history professor at Bar-Ilan University in Ramat-Gan, Israel. Israelis, he said, feel almost as if hes their president. Sweet.
Johnny was cheered when he went to the Kotel. We'll see what happens to Obama. If he doesn't even go then his handlers determined that it would be too embarrassing.

President Bush has reaffirmed his support for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, calling him a man of peace. They met as members of the diplomatic quartet on the Middle East gathered for talks on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly. President Bush says Mahmoud Abbas is a man with a vision of peace, who can help make the plan for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute a reality. "I can't thank you enough for the courage you have shown," Mr. Bush says. "I assure you our government wants to work with you so that you are capable of delivering the vision that so many Palestinians hope for and that is a society in which they can raise their children in peace and hope."

His legacy/state department drone rhetoric blows, but he has been a good friend to Israel and that can’t be denied. Remember, he never let smelly arafat into the White House to stink up the furniture. People may try to blame the U.S. for the current “peace negotiations”, but Israel holds the most blame for the situation on the ground. Olmert’s government is a DISASTER.

Why is it that whenever President Bush takes a position or makes a statement that goes squarely against conservative doctrine it's pushed off as a boneheaded move by the State Department or one of his handlers. He is the decider. I don't buy into the notion that Bush is a stupid puppet that allows his subordinates to set US policy. President Bush is no one's fool. Those are his words, his sentiments and his policy. Have you traveled to Israel? I have and please believe me, “the Mahmoud is a man of peace” rhetoric goes over about as well as when our president stated Islam is a religion of peace after 911. Let's not sugarcoat it because he has an “R” after his name. FReepers tend to call them as they see them.

Would you say that any American politician who says, President Mahmoud Abbas, is a man of peace, is sucking up to terrorists? Any American, who praises any of our muslime enemies, is sucking up to terrorism. That includes any President who proclaims islammunism to be a "religion of peace".

"Any American, who praises any of our muslime enemies, is sucking up to terrorism. That includes any President who proclaims islammunism to be a "religion of peace". See, that's old school FReeper think and I love it! I salute you for not selling out. Right will always be right, regardless of the letter stamped after a politicians name.

I agree. I bet maybe 30% of the Jews in this country support McQueeg.

But, the young, non-religious, liberal American Jews will go for B. Hussein.
The American Jewish vote is probably the most liberal voting bloc in America.

Yes, the Jews in Israel would vote for McLame if they could. BUT, the Jews in America will vote for Obamma Lamma Ding Dong by a large margin. Because he is a democrat and American Jews always favor the liberal Dem.
But hey, if Israel goes under, no big deal right?

Not only have I travelled in Israel, I’m an Israeli citizen, blaquebyrd. And I don’t think President Bush is a puppet. I do think the state department is filled with liberal arts arabists who have a brainwashing power over the WH. Condi also used to sound more like Bibi than Bubba, but she got sucked in, too. Actions speak louder than words, and at the end of the day, President Bush has continued the war on terrorism (islamo-fascism) and has not proposed any idiot concessions that Olmert has not proposed himself.
