Gitmo Go-Ahead

It has taken nearly seven years, but the men who planned the murder of 3,000 Americans on 9/11 are finally going to face justice in a court of law.
The last of numerous political and legal hurdles were cleared this week to put the enemy combatants held at Guantanamo on trial. Federal District Court Judge James Robertson ruled Thursday that the military commissions -- established by Congress in 2006 and applying guidelines laid out by the Supreme Court -- can move forward. A military judge in Guantanamo reached a similar decision. So the first case against Osama bin Laden's former driver and al Qaeda terrorist -- Salim Hamdan -- will start Monday.
Judge Robertson's ruling makes obvious legal sense....

Geez, I hope they can’t appeal to the 9th circus court.
Wrigley Field has lousy hotdogs.
> Wrigley Field has lousy hotdogs.
And a lousy baseball team to match. Go Sox!
In Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy [Inferno], Dis is the City of the Dead (it.: La città infuocata di Dite). It is located in the Sixth Circle. The walls of Dis are guarded by fallen angels. The buildings of Dis which are mentioned are Mosques and furnaces. Dis is extremely hot. Punished within Dis are those whose lives were marked by active (rather than passive) sins: heretics, murderers, suicides, blasphemers, usurers, sodomites, panderers, seducers, flatterers, Simoniacs, sorcerors, barrators, hypocrites, thieves, false counsellors, schismatics, falsifiers and traitors.
Guantanamo was hardly heard off when I was stationed there for 6 weeks in 1961.
I'm a Pirates fan myself.
Hopefully Guantanamo will soon become famous for terrorists being hung or marched in front of a firing squad with lots of pics showing the tropical paradise in the background. :)
> I’m a Pirates fan myself.
A very worthy team, the Pirates.
I prefer fast-pitch softball myself, as New Zealand is home to the mighty Black Sox ISF softball team, world champions more often than not. Baseball is definitely a better game, but softball is more accessible here.
And then of course there is The Cricket...!
Like em all but especially the last one, it says it all when it comes to terrorists.
Excellent, smooth! I’ll be looking for you on the turnpike!

Seeing hippies’ heads explode: Priceless.
"We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and the oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender..."
Today, we here can remember these words and apply them to the leftist scourge that threatens us from within.
NEVER SURRENDER
NEVER SURRENDER
Absolutely!
IMO, one of the reasons we are in the position we are in today is leftists feel the majority of Americans won't stand up for freedom and our right to live our lives unencumbered by government. We can't let our country be taken over by socialism as the countries in Europe have.
I'm off for a while, guys, Pirates baseball game! Mrs. Smooth is on a beer run. LOL! You may not hear from me again tonight. ;-)
