Let the Chinese bleed over Africa. I don't see a reason that we should even bother. We can't even defeat our own "insurgent democrat socialists" on our own home front. We can't even reach a consensus that "perhaps" we should produce our own energy rather than rely upon the good will of our most bloodthirsty enemies. The indigenous African people and their descendents have survived famine, slavery, holocausts, King Leopold of Belgium and colonialism.
The Native American people were largely wiped out in many parts of South and North America by the Spanish, French, Dutch, Portugese and English. The Native Africans have thrived.
We are sturdy people. We will not all die out and we will not be subdued. Nations like Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua and Guyana are full of our descendents.
We survived a lot in the past and we will survive a lot in the future.
Please stop reading this alarmist nonsense. China is not going to take over Africa.

75,000 a year is not a massive number as there must be close to a billion people in Africa. Show me the plan to send 300 million there. We accept a million immigrants a year legally. Now that is a big number. Stop being alarmist.

Any African who leaves the shores of Africa must be prepared to deal with racism. (We even experience racism at home). Every year thousands of young African students experience unspeakable racism in Russia and Ukraine. (Quite a few have been badly beaten up). They still keep their heads down and graduate.
Samuel Eto’o (who plays for FC Barcelona) threatened to walk out of the soccer stadium when soccer fans threw bananas at him (in Spain!). Italian soccer fans gave the facist salute to Black players from the opposing soccer teams. These events happened after 2002.
I studied in Britain and I experienced racism (subtle type of course). I tend to prefer the open, direct type practised by the Chinese. It helps me know who my enemies are.

When you compare the average income ($400 per year?) and the average life span (less than 40) of a native African who lives on the continent to the same figures for a black person living in the US it hard to see how the racism, subtle or otherwise, is hurting you much.
All humans are racist, including you. Might as well adjust to the fact that if you live in any population where you are a minority, it will happen. I would expect it if I lived in Africa.
The Chinese should read up on the history of attempts to colonize and exploit Africa.

And they’ll pay a pretty price for it. As far as I’m concerned they can bleed to death during their Africa invasion. What I don’t want to see however is a drain of the U.S. foreign aid to areas the Chinese have taken over.
Knowing our State Dept. we’ll probably pay for the Chinese growth and end up being the bad guy there, not the Chinese.
This is why we need Obama. Like Clinton he will be falling over himself to help make this happen quicker!
I'm not that old but I am old enough to remember when America gave a certain Mr. Botha in South Africa the same type of diplomatic cover the Chinese are giving Mugabe and Bashir. I am old enough to remember how Reagan never said a bad word about Mobutu (who was at least twice as bad as Mugabe). I remember how the Belgians and French facilitated the Rwandan massacre, how the the French enabled Jean Bedell Bokassa and how the America supports that bastion of freedom and democracy - Saudi Arabia.
The West stopped coddling dictators in Africa when the risks of such behaviour started to outweigh the benefits.
The Chinese will do the same.
Mugabe is an SOB, but he is an 84 year old SOB. He will soon die. There is a general consensus in Zimbabwe that Mugabe has to go. The problem is who will replace him. The best hope for Zimbabwe is a Government of National Unity.
In Sudan it would be helpful if the US puts its money where its mouth is. Nigerian soldiers have died trying to prevent genocide in Darfur. Lt. Gen Agwai (the Nigerian commander in Darfur) is begging the world for just 17 utility helicopters!
That will be a good start.

The Chinese can - and WILL - take over Africa because [as Asians] they have absolutely no “white guilt”.
The only way to prevent the Chinese from moving in, would be for Western whites to move _back_ into Africa, in essence, re-colonizing it.

The French and Belgians didn’t do enough to effect the genocide one way or another. OK maybe a tiny tiny amount. French should not have even done what you mention... but they had infinitesimal impact on the Rwandan genocide

The European countries were there for resources, but also colonizing. Chinese just want the resources. That may be more acceptable to both parties.
And if the Chinese mine and drill in Africa, we’ll get the resources via trade, too, without the domination.
It may result in a few dictators staying propped up, but more roads and pipelines won’t get built otherwise. The infrastructure, right now, matters more for the average African’s quality of life than a moment of freedom before the next dictator takes over.
And if the Chinese do take over, Africa probably needs a one child policy for a while. There won’t be so many starving kids if they weren’t having 8 of them.

Yes, they are Han Chinese. Linda Thom has written some about this practice at VDare. It isn’t a new policy. Back in 1975 or so there was a book written called “Go West Young Han” about Mao’s push to move ethnic Chinese into the western areas. That one didn’t work out so well because virtually everything Mao did ended up failing. But in recent years the Chinese government has revived the practice and it may just work this time around since the new leaders are a lot more competent than Mao.
