For months, CNN's Howard Kurtz has been one of the loudest mainstream media voices accusing his fellow press members of being disgracefully in the tank for presumptive Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama.
On Sunday, Kurtz continued his finger-pointing by accurately stating, as it pertains to the focus on the junior senator's trip to the Middle East, "the media in general, not just the networks, are -- seem to me to be covering Obama as if he were already president.

He is the Messiah, doncha know?
I thought more like Nicholai Carpathia, ruler of the world.
Gee, doesn’t sound like it’s really Israel he’s worried about (though we all know IDF shoots anyone who wears green cause they’re Hamas /s)... but I digress.
Lord, let your two witnesses show up when he gets there... the ones who breathe fire.
Did I miss the democratic convention or something?
I thought Hill suspended, not conceded.
If I didn’t know better, i’d think the media moved Mc up so Obama could win. As in planned on both sides.
Kurtz would have done better to say ‘The Horror! the horror!”
What we now call the media was once called the press. When the media was the press, they had poeple that worked for them that were called reporters. Reporters used to go out and see what was happening, and report on it. They were usually somewhat objective. Now, the press calls itself the media, reporters have become journalists, reports have become features, and stories have become narratives.
Obama is to the journalists a feature. He is a star. They are reporting on him as they would Princess Diana or Brittney Spears. His narrative is fascinating to the first generation of people to have been raised entirely on color television. Essentially, he is a black man, never mind that he is multiracial, and he aspires to the highest office in the land, which makes for a really good story. Nothing else matters. It is most of all a future movie script, based on a true story, that hasn't happened yet. But they want it to happen, they want it bad, because it is a feature narrative that they get to contribute to.
I think the real reason Kurtz, who is a believer in The Messiah, is mad that he wasn’t whisked off along with Lord Messiah Obama on the Great Rapture.
Thanks for the background.
The more miffed ones we get the better??
Alienation may get McCain elected.
