Dems showing true colors on Proposition 8?

The Democratic National Committee is actively working to foil the campaign to ban same-sex "marriage" in California.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) contributed $25,000 on February 28 to Equality for All for the purpose of opposing the proposed California marriage protection amendment known as Proposition 8. Equality for All is a homosexual group that pledges to defeat Prop 8 "one voter at a time." According to the group, "a loss in November will dramatically slow, if not halt, progress toward full equality for LGBT Americans."

Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs with Liberty Counsel, argues that the DNC is slipping further outside mainstream America. He asserts the DNC is advocating legalization of same-sex marriage by "go[ing] against the majority of Americans who support the historical definition of marriage as between one man and one woman, and...donating a substantial amount of money to this radical homosexual organization that is promoting so-called same-sex 'marriage' ...."

The Christian attorney and conservative activist also predicts that DNC chairman Howard Dean's multi-city tour in the South to promote Democratic voter registration -- a tour he started last week -- is not likely to succeed with voters who learn of the Committee's effort to defeat Prop 8.

"As the DNC tries to court values voters and Evangelicals, this misguided and ill-advised move by the DNC to support same-sex marriage, I think, is going to alienate that group of people that they are trying to court right now," says Barber.

Last week, the California Supreme Court decided to allow Prop 8 to remain on the November ballot. Although he opposes Prop 8, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has yet to officially announce his support for same-sex marriage.

Christians, especially in CA, need to be made aware that the Dems are trying to block attempts to keep marriage as being between heterosexuals. Barack Obama needs to be asked specifically how he stands on this. We know that he supports the Dems' efforts, but he must be made to openly state it.

That’s a false premise and actually undemines the case for traditional marriage. Marriage is a joining of two people of opposite gender. If one or both self-identify as homosexual, they can still get married, right?

It'd be great if we could reverse the progress made by the enemy of America. But no politician in office or with prospects has the moral courage or fortitude to even contemplate doing so.

I think it is time a law is passed making it mandatory a person running for public office declare if they are heterosexual or homosexual.
