OKLAHOMA CITY (Legal Newsline)-Oklahoma Attorney General W.A. Drew Edmondson is featured in a county commissioner's anti-gay campaign comic book.
In the comic created by Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent Rinehart, a devil threatens a small child with a pitchfork, saying" "If I can get the kids to believe homosexuality is normal!" while an angel yells, "Not with Brent around you won't!"

Rinehart sounds like a bit of a bozo.
Even if it has a genetic component, it’s still NOT normal.
Only if you're "gay". However, I'm sure they're calling him worse things.
"Edmondson last year filed felony charges against Rinehart, accusing him of perjury, conspiracy, and money laundering in connection with his 2004 campaign."
I'd say Rinehart is a bit of a bozo, regardless of sexual orientation.
"We have an attorney general here in the state of Oklahoma that has used his office for political means, filed campaign charges against me, and it's based on my opposition to the homosexual agenda," he said.
"The attorney general, Mr. Drew Edmondson, sued the Boy Scouts of America because they would not allow homosexual Boy Scout leaders as leaders," Rinehart added.
Sounds like the Dem took a page out of a Texas prosecutors handbook. Imagine that.
And he waited till 2007 to file charges for 2004? Yeah. That’s not political. /sarc
Well, it is... but the genetic component isn't what people think it is. To understand the genetic component we have to understand linkages and associations and how little it means.
But that takes time, energy and interest, and most people just aren't interested. It's easier for them to believe homosexuals are born that way. It's all quite complicated... and sad.
Was it? Have you seen the indictment or the evidence used to obtain it?
"The attorney general, Mr. Drew Edmondson, sued the Boy Scouts of America because they would not allow homosexual Boy Scout leaders as leaders," Rinehart added.
That's not true. Edmondson did file a US Supreme Court brief supporting New Jersey's right to deny the Boy Scouts access to public facilities because the Scouts discriminate against gay people, but Edmondson made it very clear, in any number of interviews and press conferences, that he was supporting states rights: New Jersey's legislature passed an anti-discrimination law and the Boy Scouts wanted it thrown out. Edmondson said it should be the state's right to avoid giving special consideration to groups that discriminate, no matter how popular they may be.
So what, exactly, is wrong with a state setting it's own policies without the federal government's interference? The same federal government that might say that New Jersey must give the Boy Scouts special protections could very well say that New Jersey, or any other state, had to cut the Scouts off. Shouldn' that be up to the state to decide? Isn't that how it's supposed to be or do you think that the feds know best?
Nope. But just before election time is a great oppotunity to smear an opponent.......3 years later.

You can parse it all you like and it won't change it. Edmondson wasn't backing states rights, he backed gay rights.
And of course, in your view it's much better that the federal government tell us what to do. They know best, right?
I Googled Drew Edmondson. He’s dirty and disliked. But you can keep defending him.
I know nothing about either man except what I read here, but the “comic book” sounds juvenile. Is this how you win votes in Oklahoma?
