JERUSALEM (CNN) -- The driver of an excavator was shot and killed Tuesday after he drove the construction vehicle over a number of cars near the King David Hotel in downtown Jerusalem, according to police.

Israeli medical sources said two people were wounded.

An eyewitness told CNN that he saw the machine overturn two cars near the hotel, where U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama will be staying Tuesday night when he arrives in Israel.

A terrorist driving an excavator was shot and killed before he could kill any innocent civilians.

Why can the writers just tell what happens? This guy is not an insurgent or a freedom fighter. He just wanted to kill as many Jews as he can because he "was" an Arab and a muslim.

Well, this does it for me. I'm ready to call for a worldwide ban, or much more stringent controls, on the sale of heavy construction equipment. The idea that any terrorist who is a bubble or so off plumb can commandeer one of those machines and go on a rampage tells me it's time for action. Sure, he could do the same with a good ol’ fashioned shovel, but he wouldn't be able to kill nearly as many as he can with the superior weapon.

A similar attack in Jerusalem killed three Israelis on July 2. The Palestinian driver of the bulldozer involved was shot dead by an off-duty soldier and police.

Maybe the Israeli police could set-up a decoy payloader with TV and electronic controls(cutoff). After the perp is iced then show it on TV. Similar to what we see on “Court TV”.

No kidding. The Jerusalem Post has the video from Israeli TV and, to that reporter at least, the major problem was how close the attack was to the hotel where Hussein Obama has reservations! I almost puked!
