State Dept. complaints irk Israeli officials

Senior officials in the U.S. State Department, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, have repeatedly complained to Israel recently over relatively minor Palestinian issues that it would have ignored until a few months ago, Israeli officials say.

Complaints about settlement construction or army operations that kill Palestinian civilians have always been the norm. But Israeli officials are worried by the State Department's new tendency to intervene in a much broader range of issues. Advertisement

One such case occurred two weeks ago, when the daughter of Palestinian parliamentarian Hanan Ashrawi sought to visit Israel. At one time, she had lived in East Jerusalem and had permanent resident status, but after several years of living in the United States, her residency had lapsed.

She therefore asked the State Department to intervene, which resulted in Israel giving her a laissez-passer to come here and arrange her status. However, she was warned at Ben-Gurion Airport that she had two weeks to do so.

Darn Israeli's, first they try to make Condi's friend's daughter obey the law, then they refuse security risks to enter the country from Gaza to get their visas to the US. How can security risks get to the US if Israel doesn't let them pick up their visas?

‘’...relatively minor issues.”

Right on, State Department should address the relatively major issue of a state founded by terrorist on land stolen from people who are are now living in prison camps.

"Israeli officials are worried by the State Department's new tendency to intervene in a much broader range of issues."

They are just getting excited and antsy about the coming pro-Islamic US administration and cannot restrain themselves.

They have been trained and schooled to be pro-Arab anti-semetics and long for the day when they no longer have to pretend otherwise.

A senior Israeli official said that the person behind this growing American criticism is the U.S. consul in Jerusalem, Jacob Wallace.

Another DOS weenie who's gone native...

Condoleeza Rice has turned into such a huge disappointment that I feel like putting an 01-20-2009 sticker on my car because of her.

Sad but true.

I used to have so much respect for her. But the more I see of her at State, the more I realize that her greatest asset as National Security Adviser was keeping us unaware of her true colors.

Let’s see, you might be talking about nearly every Islamic state, except that the peoples they conquered were long ago exterminated, expelled, converted, or forced to live as dhimmis.....
