A surrogate for John McCain made a leftward feint on a campaign conference call today, suggesting that the presumptive Republican nominee might pull troops out of Iraq sooner than Barack Obama.
"Hed like troops to come home earlier than 16 months if the conditions allow it," Rep. Heather Wilson, (R-New Mexico), said of McCain.

Good. Not sure how this is supposed to disparage McCain. I think everyone wants our troops home as long as things are stable.

Yes, IF THE CONDITIONS allow it. That’s the friggin difference, isn’t it? Obama wanted total withdrawal at any time without any precondition, it’s called surrender! Bush/McCain want a phased drawdown of combat troops, if security improves and the Iraqis take over, with some US troops remaining as strategic back up in bases! IT’S CALLED VICTORY!
