Critics Pile On As McCain Gaffes Pile Up [Iraq/Pakistan border???]
Politico via CBS News ^ | 2008-07-22 | Jim Vande Hei & Mike Allen

Posted on 07/22/2008 2:30:34 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) said “Iraq” when he apparently meant “Afghanistan” on Monday, adding to a string of mixed-up word choices that is giving ammunition to the opposition.

Just in the past three weeks, McCain has mixed up Iraq and Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan, and even football’s Packers and Steelers.

Ironically, the errors have been concentrated in what should be his area of expertise - foreign affairs.

McCain responded: “I'm afraid it's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border," McCain said. The ABC posting added: “Iraq and Pakistan do not share a border. Afghanistan and Pakistan do.”

We are exploring giving subscribers two different options for receiving pings: either to individual threads or to a single "digested" thread at the end of each calendar day. FReepmail rabscuttle385 if you are interested in receiving one or the other.

Take care to check the "mccainlist", "mccaintruthfile", and "mccain" keyword search links for related threads, since we can not possibly ping you to every relevant article that is posted. To flag a relevant thread, please add the keywords "mccainlist" and "mccaintruthfile".

Republican Commissar’s Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the irrational rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of deeply confused conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless trolls who simply want to meet a new overlord.

If the press showed the same scrutiny to Obama, they would need more than the 24 hour coverage they give him to cover all his gaffes.. Instead, they put a little halo over his head and bow down to the Obamessiah.

Every McCain gaffe will be added up and built upon to make a point about his age and mental state.

And the more he accumulates, the more impact they will have.

McCain is too confused and ill informed to be POTUS. One can expect an occasional gaffe. I recall the media going wild over Ford’s Poland statement - the only gaffe he made. Bush made minor ones and MSM made a big deal of them. McCain keeps on making them and nothing much happens. MSM probably fears the GOP might turn to somebody else or pressure him to resign.

McCain will get my vote reluctantly, but he will get it.

Initially, I was just looking forward to voting against Obama, thus for McCain by default, but now I also am looking forward to voting against the MSM (thus McCain by default.) The way they are propping up the Obamessiah, I more and more want that unholy union to lose.

No. You missed my subtly. That is why that portion was in brackets [ ].

I was indicating with 'nevermind' that 'nearing 60 states' did not make national headlines, whereas 'Iraq/Pakistan' border does.

What do you think the ‘nevermind’ in my statement implies? Who would the press be ‘nevermind’ing?

I know it was subtle, but the brackets and ‘nevermind’ should have been enough to clue you that that part did NOT refer to McCain.

The Messi-Uh Press Conference: "Uh, Uh, Uh, Uh, Uh, Uh, Uh, Uh"

I heard this on Rush today, but although he didn't say so, I have to assume that it was a montage of "uhs" that occurred throughout the press conference all edited together into one sound byte.

Am I correct? I didn't hear the actual press conference, but I can't believe that Obama was THAT inarticulate. I was disappointed that Rush didn't say it was a montage.

If that sound byte actually all occurred in a single response to a question, then Obama is really more brain dead than I ever would have imagined.

I wish Rush would have clarified that it.

It’s a shame they couldn’t have done this prior to the primary, but, then, McCain was their favorite Republican liberal.

It’s unfortunate for McCain that he can’t out liberal a Marxist without looking totally stupid, because he’s lost the “middle” and the conservative voters with his asinine positions in recent years.

Lame McCain.

Obama and McCain both make these mistakes. Obama stated earlier today he was sure Israel would remain Israel’s friend no matter what, when he clearly meant the United States would.

These guys are both tired, and they goof up. It’s not big deal unless something way out of the norm happens.

CBS is taking a cheap shot here. They are trying to keep McCain off balance until Obama comes home.

Par for the course. I don’t like McCain, but it’s on matters of substance that I base that, not this childish B.S. that both men are guilty of.

Bump for tomorrow, I don’t feel like pulling up the threads today, if someone else wants to, Bravo!!!

Dan Rather, the “most” trusted man in America until Mapesgate, confused Barack Hussein Obama and Osama bin Laden last week in an MSNBC interview. The context was Dan was saying that Jesse “It’s alright for me to use the N-word” Jackson paved the way for ‘Osama bin Laden’.

There wasn’t a peep out of the press.

Today Obama gave a press conference. Rush has aired a transcript of the conference redacted to 8+ minutes of UNIQUE instances of Barack Hussein Obama saying “Um, uh, y’know.” EIGHT MINUTES.

Someone should overdub that over the footage that the Left loved of Bush reading a book about a goat to school children after being in formed that the WTC had been attacked. Watch the countdown of Obama stumbling with NOTHING BUT ums and uhs for 8 damn minutes. Let them tell me that Obama is clean and articulate and McCain a geriatic loon.
