Obama takes on airs of inevitability

Barack Obama is only a candidate, but don't tell that to the Germans, some of whom have leapfrogged that whole election thing and already are calling him "President Obama" in advance of his visit.
For that matter, his own campaign could use a reminder. For the second time in as many days, reporters traveling with Mr. Obama on his overseas trip corrected campaign staffers for saying White House practices also govern his campaign in dealing with the press, or in delivering speeches.
Even the King of Jordan gave the senator from Illinois special treatment - personally driving the presumed Democratic nominee to the airport in his Mercedes.
Meantime, Mr. Obama has met with top U.S. military commanders and engaged in negotiations with foreign leaders, prompting strong criticism from a former White House adviser who accused him of crossing the line by talking about his conversations with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
"We have a long tradition in this country that we only have one president at a time. He's the commander in chief and the negotiator in chief. I cannot remember a campaign in which a rival seeking the presidency has been in a position negotiating a war that's under way with another party outside the country," David Gergen, who has served four presidents in both parties during his career, said on CNN Monday night.

Americans wouldn’t dare reject BO in November after his “impressive” Middle Eastern “’RATS Gone Wild Tour 08.” Just ask any of his disciples in the national “media.”

And we all know just how well this “inevitability” thing worked out for his former opponent, Hillary Clinton. Problem is, if he does lose in November, we will be treated, once again, to choruses of “The Republicans cheated!!!” for another four years at least. You think these nuts are bad now? If their annointed one goes down to defeat after this build up, I hate to think what new lows they could sink to.

Hubris. May it be his downfall****
It certainly was the downfall of Hillary.

Mrs. Clinton, had an air of inevitability, and you know what happened to her.

I am SOOO sick of him. He’s a little man, not worthy of POTUS. You have to really wonder what machine is behind the elevation of this cretin to the Rat nomination. The whole thing seems so very surreal.

Im sick of him and hes not even elected. Ill bet a lot of others feel the same way. As far as the press (foreign and domestic) and the Obama camp are concerned, the American people don't amount to a bucket of spit. I wonder if they even think about the fact that America is the oldest democracy in the modern era and that our leaders are elected, not designated by an elite.
I think that foreigners calling him "Mr. President" is very offensive. The Germans should be reminded that we don't have putsches in this country.

WTF, i hope this turd goes down in an embarassing defeat. Yes, and if he does, let him undergo the same fate that the Russians imposed on the false Dmitri. He should be placed inside a cannon and fired off to Europe, where they seem to love him so much.

This trip alone makes Obama a Foreign Affairs expert.

RUSH: All right, two more bites for you, folks. Andrea Mitchell, National Barack Channel. This is last night on their little twiddling cable outlet talking about Obama and his summer trip to Afghanistan and Iraq.
MITCHELL: Let me just say something about the message management. He didn't have reporters with him, he didn't have a press pool, he didn't do a press conference while he was on the ground in either Afghanistan or Iraq. What you're seeing is not reporters brought in, you're seeing selected pictures taken by the military, questions by the military, and what some would call fake interviews because they're not interviews from a journalist. So there's a real press issue here. Politically it's smart as can be, but we have not seen a presidential candidate do this in my recollection ever before.
RUSH: Yeah, so where's the criticism? Just say it, flops and flies away. Isn't this also interesting, he's meeting with the troops! He's meeting with the generals, and, of course, the Pentagon, the military is out there, stage managing this, they always do this, no matter who's on the trip. But it's fake interviews because the questions from the journalists are not being asked. Questions asked by the troops are irrelevant because they're not journalists. So these are fake interviews. So in a sense, Andrea Mitchell, National Barack Channel, is out there accusing Barack of propagandizing this by not allowing the media anywhere. Hey, look, Andrea, if he didn't want you, he didn't want you. (interruption) Well, military journalists are phony journalists because they work -- you have to understand the liberal mind-set, Snerdley -- military journalists are phony journalists because they're with the military. The military is nothing but a propaganda arm of the Bush administration. You can't trust what the military tells you. The military always lies. Liberals, they hate the military. Well, they don't hate it, they don't trust it. It's not one of their most favorite institutions. Andrea Mitchell, National Barack Channel, was asked the following question by the host, Chris Matthews. "The administration of George Bush and now the campaign of McCain has, fairly or not, made their case that they're the politicians looking out for the troops, they are the troops' politicians, the troops' party, they have suggested that soldiers, men and women both, in all ranks, all the outfits support the Republican policy in Iraq and Afghanistan. Does the picture of Obama having a good time among the smiling faces of service people undercut that political statement?"
MITCHELL: I have to tell you that the military feels very uncomfortable about being used in any way as helping one side or the other in a political campaign. This is something that is against their rules, against the law, and they don't want to be, you know, part of this, but they have no choice because congressional delegations are carried by the military. So they're trying to play it down the middle. It's very hard for them to be put on the spot this way. I do think that Obama has some vulnerability when you really drill down on these issues, because the surge, clearly the surge has worked, and not only in terms of security, there is some level of political reconciliation. The Sunnis rejoined the government on Saturday. We saw 1,700 police recruits only yesterday being sworn in, the first and largest -- or the largest, I should say, graduating class. So there are some positive things happening on the ground that you have to attribute to the surge.
RUSH: There has to be a backlash, folks, on this media coverage of The Messiah. There just has to be a backlash against the Drive-By Media. I was telling Snerdley in our kitchen back there, Mikhail Gorbachev, Lenin, Stalin never got this kind of coverage from their media. And they owned it! And they dictated to it! I mean, this is amazing. McCain gets off the plane in New Hampshire yesterday with one reporter and one cameraman. The Drive-Bys talk about themselves all the time, and now they're defending this, and they're analyzing this. David Rodham Gergen at CNN said Obama made a big, big mistake. There's only one president at a time, and he's out there negotiating with Maliki and all these other foreign leaders as though he's the president. Now, it's a mistake if Obama pays for it. I don't know how he's going to pay for it, but I'll tell you, we got countless examples of it. The Messiah did a presser today in Amman, Jordan, and the media is all upset because they chose an outdoor site for the presser, and the media had to sit there and sweat waiting for Obama and conducting the press conference.
I watched the press conference and I heard the answers. I heard the answers. I didn't hear too many questions. I mean, the questions were asked, but I don't know what the questions were. A couple of reporters got to a microphone, you could hear their questions, but I got Obama's answers, I don't know what he was answering. But I'll tell you, one thing I noticed, he was stuttering like Ed Koch. I told Cookie, put together a montage of this, uh, uh, uh. It was bad, folks. He was stumbling all over.(cont.)

And therein is the rub. I don’t think Obama and his pals even think of America as a historic democracy. They think they are shaping the new socialist paradise. I hope we can survive.
To: mdittmar
Funny, the Germans used to be proud people, fearless, calculating and genius...now they are sniveling, PC-fearing, 60% taxed tiny ants that cower.
America, even with her issues, is the world’s only hope.
Europe is just too weak and assembled on a suicidal platform of Muslim appeasement.

“Even the King of Jordan gave the senator from Illinois special treatment - personally driving the presumed Democratic nominee to the airport in his Mercedes.”
This really is remarkable - it says foreign interests (saudi et al) which want to leave the US as weak and politically pliable as possible are for this guy, and think he is going to win.

“You have to really wonder what machine is behind the elevation of this cretin to the Rat nomination.”
That is a VERY good observation/question.

“They think they are shaping the new socialist paradise.”
I don’t think they are ideological in that sense, they just want the power. Despotic mindset.
