Vice Presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards was caught visiting his mistress and secret love child at 2:40 this morning in a Los Angeles hotel by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER. The married ex-senator from North Carolina - whose wife Elizabeth continues to battle cancer — met with his mistress, blonde divorcee Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton on Monday night July 21 - and the NATIONAL ENQUIRER was there!
There was some discussion yesterday that Edwards could lose half of his hair and body wash kit.
I just found out about this late last night. According to the Politics1.com website, this is what they have to say:
“Strike former US Senator John Edwards from the VP hopefuls list. The National Enquirer secretly stalked Edwards with investigative reporters — much like the famous Miami Herald/Gary Hart encounter in 1987 — until they apparently caught him sneaking out of his purported girlfriend’s room in a Los Angeles hotel at 2:40 am on Tuesday morning.
The newspaper again reported Edwards is the father of the woman’s infant child. Edwards’ wife Elizabeth is terminally ill with cancer. According to the newspaper, Edwards snuck in through a side entrance, then went downstairs to avoid the lobby and grab an elevator up, and then reversed the move when leaving.
When the reporters ambushed Edwards upon leaving the room, he ran into a basement bathroom and remained holed up there for 15 minutes until hotel security was summoned to escort out the reporters. In any instance, Edwards will now be eliminated from any serious VP consideration.
How about this: I hear that Mr. Edwards has had mistresses for years - in North Carolina, and this is, apparently, common knowledge there.
The other explanantion might be this: No one cares about Mr. Edwards, because what you see is what you get, and that isn’t much.

National Enquirer is supposedly going to release pics this evening of their reporters chasing Edwards around the hotel. Apparently, there were a lot of witnesses in the hotel so the NE story is verifiable.

Unlike the front page news of John McCain and that lobbyist. What was the story? There is this attractive lobbyist, and someone on John McCain’s staff thinks he shouldn’t hang around her too much. To say there was nothing substantive would be an understatement. As I recall, the story was something like, “Someone thought once that maybe a rumor might start if John McCain was seen with this person....” That got more coverage than this story has garnered so far!

My wife said long ago that there would be a huge sex scandal involving him, because a buy with his high profile and supposed “good looks” (she doesn’t think so, but the media does) simply wasn’t going to, shall we say, be attracted to his sick wife.

Since my first thought on seeing her photo was how mannish looking she was, let’s not jump to conclusions. My second thought was the hair styling video and that he probably thinks he’s found his soul mate with this person.

What happened to the thread yesterday. One minute it was in breaking news when I got home, went to walk the dog and it disappeared. I didn’t search the site for it but I didn’t think it would quiet down so quickly here. I thought maybe it was pulled.

this would only be news if he was named VP hopeful. but this story pretty much squashes the chances of that. so this story kind of killed itself.
He's not in office, and there is no possibility of him being in office.

I’ll believe a National Enquirer headline before I believe a NYTs one.
News takes many forms. To me, the news is the treatment this story will get from the MSM, if it is covered at all.
Of course, I'm still a bit skeptical of the reporting since it is the NE.
