Obama to Israel: Put Terrorism in Context

The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) issued the following statement today:

Senator Obama in Jordan today said that terrorism makes 'Israelis want to dig in and simply think about their own security regardless of what's going on beyond their borders.' What Senator Obama fails to recognize is that the safety and security of its citizenry is the primary obligation of a country's leadership.

In essence, Senator Obama is asking Israelis and the American Jewish community to put terrorism in context. Senator Obama continues his rhetoric of moral equivalence by implying that measures taken by Israel to protect its citizens are on par with the Palestinians' frustration at border checkpoints. Senator Obama's attempt at even-handed diplomacy fails to hold Palestinians accountable for using terrorist tactics against innocent Israeli citizens as a means to achieve their ends.

When people are attacked, they usually focus on their own security. Why should Israel be different? Only idiot liberals look to the whys (they don't like us and it's our fault because they are poor and we are rich and insensitive).

In a world where lunacy and pure evil have always prevailed in diverse places and where war and murder are both chronic and endemic what any country that values the lives of its citizens needs is someone willing to talk and listen but to put the protection of his people first and foremost and who will take devastating action against any group or nation that murders our people.

A guy like this Obama fellow will get people killed.

The Jimmy Carter comparison is apt. Carter was rightly perceived as a wimp by our enemies and they moved to expand their power and influence as much as possible while he was in office. The hostage mess in Iran typifies this kind of “leader”. Carter dithered for months, made himself look pathetically weak and ineffectual, mounted a single botched rescue effort and left office and a legacy of terror and mayhem the full potential of which we have yet to experience. Obama is just as weak and foolish and with less reason because we have the lessons of the last 30 years to show that appeasement, indecisiveness and luke-warm patriotism get us precisely nothing except more murder of our people and increased disdain and boldness among our enemies.

This guy might be qualified as a social worker or anger-management counselor but certainly not as president.
