A Democrat colleague of mine said the troops in Afghanistan 'love' him, and that he'll win the vast majority of votes from the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I just can't see it. He's the leader of a party that has done their darndest to bury good news in Iraq, capitalize on bad news.
A number of young troops, especially black troops are infatuated with Obama...
The troops photoed playing with him were from his congressional district. Can’t remember where I read or heard that. Otherwise google is your friend.

OMG, I just had this argument with the idiots at my work today.
There are very few photos of Obama with the troops either in Afghanistan or Iraq. I’ve had a heck of time finding pictures on Google.
There is a picture of him having breakfast but the troops aren’t eating they are just sitting there. Plus with the photos that are out there give you the impression that the military is 80% black.
I have it on good authority that he met with very few troops while in Iraq because he was in the Green Zone and there are not many troops there. He spent his time meeting with government officials and only a photo op here and there with the troops.
But some troops are infatuated with Obama gal, though they may be saluting the flag...

Search for some of the recent threads with the words Caption Obama in the title. Some of the wireservice pictures of Obama with the troops are there (nothing from AP or Getty, per use restrictions).
Ask your friend if he agrees with Barack’s mumbled position that the surge didn’t contribute anything (it was a combinatin of OTHER factors) and that Obama’s plan of withdrawl might’ve yielded even better results (he doesn’t indicate what “better” would’ve been or what evidence he has for making that claim).

I heard on the vicki mckenna show (1130am in Milwaukee) that she received an email from a soldier saying he snubbed the troops. Stayed about an hour. Didnt shake hands. Went on to say the troops received more respect from the Dallas cheer leaders. Was trying to see if I could get my hands on a copy of it. Might be able to listen to it on vicki mckenna web site.

I have Googled. There really aren’t that many, and the ones I’ve seen he’s surrounded by black soldiers. Nothing surprising about that.
In the Bush photo there are Marines, desert cammies and soldiers, gray/tan/sage ACUs. In the Obama photo it appears only soldiers are present.
The Gray uniform is known as the ACU (Army Combat Uniform) though the Air Force has a set sort of like it, the Brown Deserts aren’t worn by Army or Marines anymore and are used primarily by the Navy and Air Force. So the dudes in Gray are Soldiers, the ones in other uniforms are likely Sailors or Airmen.
I have not spoken to all the troops but I know what Obama thinks of them...

The lunatics I work with told me the same thing about their love of Obama and how the troops are desperate to get out of the military.
My brother is in Baghdad as a contractor, he was in Afghanistan while active, he will be visiting home in August and I offered to have him come and talk to them about what it is really like instead of what you get off the internet. They just looked at me. They had the nerve to tell me that because of family and friends being involved in this war, my opinion and their opinions are biased.

In fairness, I’ve been googling all kinds of phrases, with and without quotes, and I come up pretty light.
That second picture is so photoshopped. No professional politician would be smiling at common soldiers when there is a camera around. He would be smiling and waving at the folks back home and scowling in contempt at the trained monkeys. Hilary and Chelsea showed us how it is done. /s

My brother serves at Sokor close to the DMZ. By e-mail, he already told me that the base commander “accidentally” blurted out in the mess hall, “I hate that commie bastard. I really hope he doesn’t visit here because I will personally beat him senseless.” It’s all over the base but no one exactly knows if he was joking or not.
