Once a migrant worker, today he’s a brain surgeon

“Dr. Q” has a theory about how to cure cancer that he can’t wait to tell me.

I look around at his lab assistants, their faces a rainbow of colors — intense, smart, listening. Their parents come from many parts of the world. Dr. Q has chosen them to test his theory: that a team of scientists from a diversity of backgrounds might find a cure for cancer more quickly, because each would see the problem differently.

The lab at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore we’re all gathered in belongs to Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa — “Dr. Q.” He is one of the best brain surgeons in the world, but two decades ago, his hands were picking vegetables for $22 a day. Quinones was a migrant worker, living under an old camper top in the middle of a California field.

> “ Ironically, the brain surgeon followed his heart, not his brain: He became a U.S. citizen rather than return to Mexico a hero. He felt he owed this country for all the opportunity it had given him. “ <

Bravo! Instead of receiving a handout and relying on the “system”, he worked hard and achieved his dreams..legally.

I agree that the Doctor is remarkable, but we all know the reason for this article, and it’s not to focus on hard working, drven, individuals.

The message is clear. If you areagainst open borders, you’re a racist and would be denying our country the next brain surgen..because, of course, everyone jumping the fence is a future leader.

So, I guess he will be the poster boy of Illegal workers, now. With zillion of illegals coming to the US every year, it shouldn't be a surprise that one or two of them are successful. I see that he was educated in UC Berkeley. Would his experiences be taunted as an example that if we give opportunities to illegals by giving them free education, there will be more like him?

This guy has been featured in the MSM for weeks now. Here NBC, last week on ABC’s “Hopkins”.

In the original Readers Digets article on the Doctor, headmitted to multiple incidences of entering the country illegally, even when he decided to attend Medical School.

My question, how many Americans receive free medical care from the doctor for him repaying what benefits he received at our expense earlier?

I applaud him for becominig legal, but we should not forget he was in the country illegaly and had the advantage of taxpayer benefits.

Now that he is wealthy, what has he done to repay or discopurage others in their illegal acts?

I'd rather have a lot more Dr. Q's than Paris Hiltons, but our country really teach success, or indoctrination?

“So, I guess he will be the poster boy of Illegal workers, now. “

Cesar Millan (the Dog Whisperer) has been usurped.

I read that he paid coyotes $300 to bring him across. Last I heard he had a green card and not yet a citizen. Maybe he should go to med school.
