OBAMA TEAM BEGINS WORK ON PRESIDENTIAL TRANSITION
The Atlantic ^ | Thursday, July 24, 2008 | Marc Ambinder

Posted on 07/24/2008 7:00:09 AM PDT by kristinn

With less than six months to go before he would be sworn in as the nation’s 44th president, Sen. Barack Obama has directed his aides to begin planning for the transition.

"Barack is well aware of the complexity and the organizational challenge involved in the transition process and he has tasked s small group to begin thinking through the process,” a senior campaign adviser said. “Barack has made his expectations clear about what he wants from such a process, how he wants it to move forward, and the establishment and execution of his timeline is proceeding apace.”

Last month, the Post’s Chris Cillizza reported that campaign advisers were sounding out John Podesta, a former White House chief of staff to President Bill Clinton and currently the president of the Center for American Progress, for his advice.

An aide confirms that Podesta will probably be asked to head the transition team, which would take over from the campaign if Obama wins in November, and would be tasked with ensuring a smooth handover of power.

Podesta’s Center for American Progress is working with the Third Way think tank on a Homeland Security Presidential Transition Initiative; its director is Michael Signer, a former senior policy aide to Ex-Sen. John Edwards.

Cassandra Butts, a longtime Obama friend who is a CAP executive vice president, is working closely with Podesta.

Butts, via e-mail, would not confirm her participation in the project.

Podesta remains a close friend of both Clintons and his participation will help assuage the concerns of Clinton-era Democratic policy and political appointees who might have felt abandoned in an Obama administration.

“4 years of Hussein will remind them of why we have to have true conservatives.”

After four years of the Messiah, the only guns you will be loving are the pictures of the guns you used to have.

"Barack is well aware of the complexity and the organizational challenge involved in the transition process and he has tasked s small group to begin thinking through the process,” a senior campaign adviser said.

Obviously he is not. He should have had a team preparing for the possibility he'd be President back in January. Six months is not enough time for anybody, and especially not enough time for a guy who is completely clueless about leading things, and who has never put together a staff of people.

It's like he thought just by winning, things would happen. Of course, his campaign is like that, because he has people running it for him and seems to have no clue what they are doing.

And his Senate election was like that, he came in and Reid told him what to do and he did whatever he was told. He was assigned to committees and he never had to show up.

I've mentioned this before but Hillary is waiting for Obama to screw up and she will waltz in to “save” the party and get the nomination.

I can't agree more. These brain dead poster that live in a 11 year old fantasy world in which we let our enemies ( the Obama radical left)win so we can win later. That is the same fantasy nonsense they were promoting in 2006 and now thanks to there great strategy the radical left controls congress and plans to deny the overseas troops the right in this election !

He needs to be careful. This has shades of “President Dewey”. As the old saying goes, if you don’t write a concession speech, you’ll need one.

This high-handed attitude makes Bill and Hill look like George and Martha Washington in comparison.

I said that Barry makes Bill and Hill look like Scouts, but I like yours better. ;)

Mrs. Clinton is just waiting in the wings...a bomb will drop in August. Poor Barry...thanks for playing.

Its all part of the Psycho-logic mind games played by the Obama media and the Left. Its the “ Don’ fight it / Air of Inevitability “ mind game strategy learned from the Nazi propaganda experts.

Well, today I start sending McCain money...this Jerk Messiah CANNOT be president.

Heck, 1 year will be enough for the county to see what B. Hussein is all about. Enough time to sweep in a new conservative Congressional revolution that should have more than enough high crimes & misdemeanors material for an impeachment to yank that quasi-Muslim right out of the White House. President Barry makes it to mid-2011, tops.

In recent elections, exit polls have been 5-8% higher than the actual vote for black candidates. Stand-by for our cities to burn (again) in November...

Fox calls it an "outrageous claim" this morning...on his plane yesterday, Barry says that the troops are forced to watch Fox by W:

Obama: Garret's there all the time, how is it that Fox News has such the hook up with Armed Forces Television?

Garrett: They make the choice.

Obama: Is that the Commander-in-Chief's choice?

He will get the nomination. There is no way a Democrat can be elected president with out at 88 percent of the black vote and a normal black turn out.

If Hillary were to get the nomination the black turn out would be zilch. If hilary were to manage to get this nomination she could not get black support.

Hillary’s plan is to see to it Obama loses badly. Then for the next 4 year you will hear a thousand times a week that Hillary could have beaten John McCain. She will in fact walk away with the nommination in 2012. It will be decades before another Black gets the Democratic nomination.

Obama is the kind of guy who thinks he can talk his way our of anything. And we know the media has not looked into his past. But your rump Hillary and Bill have. The question is when will Drudge get the proof of what will cost Obama lots of white support.

Why shouldn't he be? He has no opponent

This is exactly what I have been saying as well. Where the hell is, what's his name again? Oh, that's right, it's John something. McCain! Where the hell is this guy? Does he even want to be president because it sure as hell doesn't look like it. The guy has enough negatives as it is and here he is running what has to be the most invisible presidential campaign in modern history.

It's absolutely infuriating. Obama is ripe for a huge loss in November, yet the Republican Party is going into battle with just about the only candidate bad enough to lose to him. I'm not talking about McCain on the issues here, I'm talking about his image, marketability, and campaigning ability, which are all either coma inducing or non-existant. Please let the RNC come to it's senses and find a loophole to nominate someone else, because I'm having a very hard time seeing how the Invisible Man is going to pull this off.
