Hollywood's conservative underground
'Friends of Abe' group meets quietly
EXCLUSIVE:
A group of politically conservative and centrist Hollywood figures organized by actor Gary Sinise and others has been meeting quietly in restaurants and private homes, forming a loose-knit network of entertainers who share common beliefs like supporting U.S. troops and traditional American values.

Gary Sinise is probably one of my favorite actors, and I’m glad he’s doing this.

Hollywood is nearly uniformly hard Left. The number of conservatives in Tinseltown you can count on the fingers of one hand.

Good! His character on CSI: NY served in the Marines, so I wonder if the writers had that in mind.

It’s amazing the amount of closet conservatives I met when I was in the business. Many of the below the line are conservative and great to talk with. Of course, the grips, transportation, etc. are the ones who can’t afford to live in LA and drive to/from Palmdale or Lancaster.

Once everybody gets out of rehab with their $200,000 addictions and see why everybody has left them and their new lifestyle choices, then and only then will their narcissistic “LUV me FU” ways change for the better. But many won't even think about it if they are running with the devil. They'll still be singing “the world will be a better place for me, for you, for me, can't you see...” while killing themselves gently, and not so gently.
To: peggybac
I continue to be amazed by the quiet strength of many conservatives. And I am optimistic that McCain will win.

I heard something about this from that actor who is on Fox and Friends once in awhile. Ugh, can’t remember his name. Former lib, not Dennis Miller. They need to be more vocal. I love Gary Sinise. Always catch his CSI show.
I caught the Gene Simmons, from Kiss, roast a few weeks ago and at the end they had a military colonel present Gene with a flag that was flown in Iraq. Seems Gene supports the wounded warriors. They showed some clips of Gene and his daughter visiting the troops. It was a funny show. Love Lisa Lampanelli.

It is about to go street level. Keep it under your hat...
'Airplane!' Director Eyes Michael Moore - (new conservative comedy blasting Michael Moore) (politico.com July 23, 2008)
David Zucker, the director and writer who helped create Airplane! and The Naked Gun franchise has called on Hollywoods tiny but tightly knit Republican A-list crowd to help him make a broad yet unusually right-leaning political satire titled An American Carol. The low-budget indie co-stars Emmy winner Kelsey Grammer with Oscar-winner Jon Voight, cinema icon Dennis Hopper, model-heiress Paris Hilton and frequent Zucker stooge Leslie Nielsen in minor roles. Release is planned sometime by years end; the director suggested Friday, Sept. 12, to coincide with the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
I don't know Paris Hilton to be a conservative (Zucker has been known to put topical "real life figures" in his comedies) but the others are and Voight and Grammer were mentioned in the "Blacklist" article...

>>>>>A group of politically conservative and centrist Hollywood figures ... A very small group. Conservatives and centrists have little in common. While there maybe some Republicans in Hollywood, most are liberal Republicans, like Robert Duvall. Pat Boone is a big time social conservative. But folks like Drew Carey, Bruce Willis and Clint Eastwood, are libertarians.
The days of hardcore conservatives like John Wayne, Ward Bond and Robert Taylor are long gone.

It's pretty sad when half of the people in this country of two parties have been forced underground in fear of reprisals...just for exercising their right to think and vote the way the founding fathers st rived to assure that they could do. Actually, I feel that way as well, when I am around co workers and relatives... Very little latitude is permitted anyone who does not share the most liberal and even extremely radical left leaning views. The MSM has succeeded in marginalizing people in this country who opt for any but the most Liberal politics, ideas and lifestyle.

I caught that too when watching “Family Jewels” once. I was so impressed that he would do that! Although I did know he supported the Pres. on going into Iraq. He is a somewhat liberal Dem., but a friendly one! He’s kind of like Ron Silver and Mayor Koch from New York, James Woods, etc..
I’m surprised that I hadn’t read more about him on FR before now! You’re the first one that had seen that, and now mentions that! Oh, Toby Keith is another musical star that supports the troops, and is Dem. Of course there is our Ted Nugent. I knew he was a conservative, and Gary Oldman, the British actor.
