Everybody said good, good. I didn’t hear his speech, but if he is true to form, it probably sounded similar to one of John Kerry’s — allot of nothing when closely analyzed.
They weren’t there for The One in the first place. They were there for the free show, free beer (uh, excuse me, bier), and free food.
Would a similar, demographically speaking, US crowd give a crap what a German politician had to say from the stump once the music was over, and the beer and the food were gone? Hell no!

If Bush were giving a 10k speech in Oklahoma City, wouldn't it be a good idea to have Toby Keith open the show so the Secret Service men could eye-over the crowd for a obvious non-fitters for a while?
I just don't get the concert before thing. If that's all folks were there for the crowd would've left and thinned out considerably.

You have to understand the German mind set, the concerts ran right up until it was time for the speech, by that time most of the crowd was, probably, drunk and having a good time, so why not stay and listen to the idiot from the US?

Well, there we have it. Now we know for certain he's the Messiah for whom everyone's been seeking.
Why in the heck is Obama visiting Germany in the first place? And why are we supposed to care whether Germans like him? Is Germany our new best friend? Do they like him because he reminds them of Der Fuhrer? I don't get it.
I watched the event. I am aware that the spaces of Berlin are on a very deceptively grand scale but even taking this into account there could not have been not over 40 or 50 thousand people there. And they didn’t seem all that enthusiastic either.
Big crowd.....big deal. They only came out of curiosity, not because he’s a swell guy. I’m not as impressed by the numbers as the media seems to be.
Sounds like he has a long career ahead of him as the opening act for the Dixie Chicks. They pretty much have the same audience.
