Barack Obama may be on a world tour surrounded by a fawning media, but Sunday an expert in electronic document forensics released a detailed report on the purported birth certificate -- actually a "Certification of Live Birth" or COLB -- claimed as genuine by his campaign. The expert concludes with 100% certainty that it is a crudely forged fake: "a horribly forgery," according to the analysis published on the popular right-wing Atlas Shrugs blog.
The purported Certification of Live Birth published by the Daily Kos left wing blog and claimed as genuine by the Obama campaign features a security border that differs dramatically from security borders on COLB documents before and after the one supposedly printed out for Obama in 2007.
The purported birth certificate was published by the left wing Daily Kos blog on June 12 in response to unconfirmed reports that Obama was not in fact born in the United States (Canada and Kenya were suggested as the possible locations of his actual birth). Since he would in that case not be a natural born US citizen (his mother was not present in the US sufficiently long as an adult to pass American citizenship on to him automatically), he would not be eligible to be president.

The latest examinaton of the purported documents is by far the most detailed and technically sophisticated to date.
Atlas Shrugs publisher Pamela Geller reports that the expert analyst, who goes by the screen name "Techdude", is "an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, American College of Forensic Examiners, The International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners, International Information Systems Forensics Association -- the list goes on.

It’s outrageous that an ordinary american citizen can not file a challenge to a candidate’s legal stature. These people work for us and if our representatives won;t step in, surely a citizen should be allowed to file suit.
I terribly fear that this is a red herring dragged out (can you say DemocRAT Dirty Tricks)just to get lots of conservatives chomping and running with it ala "Michelle Obama on tape calling caucasians 'whitey,'" only to be proved wrong.

Only in theory. We have a Supreme Court that views it as a living document. We have the left that sees it as an antiquated flawed document, and those on the right who lack spine enough to enforce it.

It is also very interesting to me that this issue is completely ignored by the MSM. Just how bought and paid for is the media in this country? It is getting very George Orwellian these days.

Yes BUT a federal lawsuit prohibiting a state from putting his name on the ballot because he is not a natural born citizen would force his campaign to spend time and money defending his right to be on the ballot.
My understanding is his mother was a US citizen, and that it doesn’t matter how long you are in the US if you are a US citizen. She could have just gotten back from a vacation to Moscow for all it mattered. I also recall that someone here on FR found his birth announcement in a Hawaiian newspaper, so I’m afraid all this B.C. fraud hype is much ado about nothing.

I have read almost all of these threads and have never seen that.
I am getting so freakin’ tired of the blown up close-ups of the crap on the internet. It means nothing - it has been a proven forgery - no argument. A side-show would be a discussion on the forgery, but that is all that it is - a circus side show. It has NOTHING TO DO with the original 1961 (pre-laser-printer, pre-computer database) actual birth certificate as referenced in Barry’s own book. Where is THAT one?!?! It is the only one that matters.

Your understanding is wrong. And enough has been written on this subject on Free Republic over the last three weeks that it is inexcusable for you to post something like this without having looked at the prior commentary.
8 USCA Sec. 1401(g) provides that a person, who is born outside the US to a parent who is a U S Citizen, married to a parent who is an alien (not a US Citizen); becomes a U S Citizen only if his U S Citizen parent has resided in the U S for ten years prior to his birth of which five of such years were after the age of 16.
Obama, if born in Kenya, flunks because his mother was only 18 when he was born and thus could not by definition have met the five year test.
The statute was amended in November, 1986 to provide that for persons born after November 14, 1986, the five year period becomes two years however since Obama was born in August of 1961, he does not qualify under the amendment either.
Bottom line is if he was born in Kenya, he is neither a U S Citizen nor eligible to hold the office of President of the United States.

An announcement of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama was published in a local Hawaii paper on August 13, 1961 under Vital Statistics. The only information provided was a street address. No hospital or other place of birth was identified.
It would be helpful if someone could examine the Hawaii newspapers for the period from July 25, 1961 to August 15, 1961 to see if there is a publication, either under State Vital Statistics or under a news Vital Statistics report, of Obama's birth in this period. With particularity, is there any information other than a street address and the name of the parents as Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama published?
The Hawaii newspapers are in fiche at many public libraries in major cities in the US.
Other information required is Marriage data in the period between December 26, 1960 and April 1, 1961 for a marriage of Barack H. Obama and Stanley Ann Dunham. If someone is looking at fiche copies of Hawaii papers, please look for that also.

KOS isn't exactly a place to go for reliable information.
It's more likely that some idiot that though they were helping Obama made this forgery, rather than it coming from Obama.
If there were credible claims that Obama isn't a natural born citizen, why would he use KOS to respond to them? The forgery is almost certainly the work of the third party individual.
Obama wouldn't have trouble getting a much, much better forgery done if he needs a forged document.
