McCain: bin Laden could face Nuremberg-like justice
CNN.com ^ | 07/25/2008 | Ed Hornick

Posted on 07/25/2008 1:20:18 PM PDT by Glenn

He told CNN's Wolf Blitzer, "We have various options. The Nuremberg Trials are certainly an example of the kind of tribunal that we could move forward with. I don't think we'd have any difficulty in devising an international -- internationally supported mechanism that would mete out justice. There's no problem there."

McCain said it would be a "good thing to reveal to the world the enormity of this guy's crimes, and his intentions, which are still there."

You vote for him. I'm not sure I'd want to be responsible for an outcome like this.

More likely Hague-like justice. Justice that moves at glacial speed. Better just to shoot him.

The best possible trial for OBL is to put him in the general population in NYC.

Why not just tie bin Laden in a chair in a large office building and fly a plane directly into him. He will then feel just how painful ignited jet fuel oil feels.

What are you going to do to my nation in the first 100 days, you jack ass?

Actually it's the safest thing to say considering a summary execution would be the most likely event but the most controversial if pre-exposed.

We screwed up with Saddam Hussein by taking him alive. Alive he spawned a media circus and lots of embarassment.
I would hope that we learned our lesson. Osama should only be taken dead.

No, no public trial. A quick military hearing where we document that this is indeed Bin Ladin, and a brief explanation for the books the reason we are going to hang him. And then we hang him. Shouldn’t take more than an afternoon.

If you turn this into a media circus, you’ll have done more harm than good. If you presume innocence and allow his attorneys to start subpoena’ing anybody and everybody, and this thing drags out for 6 months, you’ll do more harm than good. This should be run as a war-trial. Quick, too the point, outcome assured, and then straight to the gallows.

> Don’t forget to read him his rights, or we’ll have to let him go.
Rights?
He has the right to die in the most gruesome and painful method that can be conceived.
He has the right to be hungry.
He has the right to be thirsty.
He has the right to have his head removed from his body, mounted and put on display in our nation’s capital for all to see.

It would be OK to give Bin Laden a Nuremberg style hanging. But where are they going to find a creative hangman like Sargent Woods today?

I say, once captured, one bullet to the back of the head, preferably by one of the 9/11 first responders who joined up for military service, then throw OBL’s sorry dead ass in a ditch, douse it with gasoline and set it on fire then fill the hole with a mixture of dirt and pig manure and call it a day.

If he can’t be soaked in pheromones from an in-heat sow and put in a cage with a pack of boars, I hope he meets the John Dillinger end - no rights-reading, no trial, just gunned down while running.

Osama bin Laden should be raped by a dog and then “compelled” to commit suicide in a humiliating fashion (an act of cowardice). Either incarceration or direct execution would be an ideological victory for Islamofascists, who crave martyrdom as an end for their hero. Dying slowly while hiding in a cave is OK too I guess - it is at least a coward’s death as well.

I am going to wait for the entire transcript to see what the question was.

My guess he was asked whether he would support a Nuremberg style commission.

Please, Dear Lord!

Can John McCain, somehow, shut the heck up until I have to go vote for him in November, and then drag my retching near-lifeless body out behind my polling place and vomit out my guts.

Please???

Do you think he's been misquoted? Taken out of context? Tricked by Blitzer?

How devious the MSM is.

>>>Don’t forget to read him his rights, or we’ll have to let him go.

Now let me see if I have this right...

Its another OJ-style trial... Is Judge Ito available?

Trial... Retrial... Appeals... reversals... remands... more retrials... sentencing...appeals.... remands.... resentencing.... more retrials.... someone screws up.... double-jeopardy... a free man....

By this time, 10 years or more down the line, OBL a free man... gets an immigration judge to proclaim he’s been here long enough to obtain citizenship.... and...

does this mean that OBL could end up living down the block from me???

Personally, I would rather bint Ladin face American frontier justice: Put together a jury in two hours, hear the case in 8 hours, deliberate for 4 hours, pass sentence in another hour, build the scaffold the next day, rub pig fat on the b@st@rd, hang him from the neck until dead, and leave him hanging until the vultures pick the dog’s carcas clean.

Skin him alive, douse him in flour, heat pig fat to just below the smoke point, pour into ears and eyes, then fry him in 100 gallons of the same.

Let us count you as a fence sitter, OK? Please be open in the next few months to an alternative viewpoint about McCain.

Hint: It is NOT in support of Obama. But it IS in support of Conservative Values you can be comfortable voting for and not having to puke your guts up afterwards.

>>> But it IS in support of Conservative Values you can be comfortable voting for and not having to puke your guts up afterwards.

First: I am voting for McCain. What other choice do I have.

Second: I am NOT a fence sitter. I am clearly and unambiguously on the side that says: Any way you slice it, McCain’s presidency will be a horror for conservatives, and a horror for the constitution. please quit the McCain-is-really-more-conservative-than-we-think nonesense. He is not conservative. Period.

McCain is good on defense, and little else. He’s not as bad a “moderate” (if you must go that far) as Obama or Clinton, etc. but given his druthers, McCain is far more to the left than anyone who hopes to be seen as a conservative.

And I am sick to death of McCain trying to give it to conservatives up the a** He’s got no respect for our views or most of our values. Yes, he’s on the right side of national defense (except the illegal alien invasion of this country). He’s on the right side of abortion. But what else is he on the right side of.

Can you tell me?

Tax cuts: Flippity-flop.

First Amendment: Thumbs down.

Border security and immigration: Thumbs way down - And forget about the deliberate efforts to deceive conservatives on this issue. We’d like to think he’s being straight with us, but he himself has clearly told us to F*** off, he’s gonna do what he wants.

Global warning: He’s delusional like the libs.

Drilling and nuclear power: He’s saying the right things for the moment, but I don’t trust his word on it.

And so on, and so forth.

But I am going to vote for him on the “lesser of two evils” front. Now, don’t say I said McCain is evil. He’s just so WRONG on so many things that, like I said, I’ll be puking for a while after pulling to lever for him.

And after he’s elected, conservatives will have to spend every waking moment FIGHTING Mccain like heck to keep him from doing too much damage with his friends, the Libs.

If you want to tell me I wrong, fine: BUT please give specific examples and some shred of evidence to support it.

By the way, just what is it I should be mysteriously looking out for over the next few months.

Is McCain going to find some new ways of lying to the conservative base, that will miraculously trick us better than he has been able to so far?

Or will he find some as yet untried method of kicking us in the collective groin?
