The U.S. Senate soon could debate whether you, your spouse and each of your children as well as your in-laws, parents, grandparents, neighbors and everyone else in America each will spend $2,500 or more to reduce poverty around the world.
The plan sponsored by Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, is estimated to cost the U.S. some $845 billion over the coming few years in an effort to raise the standard of living around the globe.
Barack Obama
S.2433 already has been approved in one form by the U.S. House of Representatives and now has been placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar for pending debate.

Ask this idiot where most of the money of relief aide to a lot of third world countries go? It certainly doesn't get to the people who need it.
From the article:
“Tom DeWeese at NewsWithViews said the plan “is very telling” about what Obama would do as president.
DeWeese, president of the American Policy Center, warned the over-arching plan includes the ideals of consolidating all international agencies under the U.N., regulation by the U.N. of all corporate environmental issues, license fees charged by the U.N. to use air, water and natural resources, a restructuring that would give hand-picked non-governmental organizations huge influence, authorize a standing U.N. army and require registration of all arms.”
It’s almost a push if you eliminate “Ear Marks”. /sarc
Just like the American tax money at work.
What is the moral code of altruism? The basic principle of altruism is that man has no right to exist for his own sake, that service to others is the only justification of his existence, and that self-sacrifice is his highest moral duty, virtue and value.
Do not confuse altruism with kindness, good will or respect for the rights of others. These are not primaries, but consequences, which, in fact, altruism makes impossible. The irreducible primary of altruism, the basic absolute, is self-sacrifice--which means; self-immolation, self-abnegation, self-denial, self-destruction--which means: the self as a standard of evil, the selfless as a standard of the good.
Do not hide behind such superficialities as whether you should or should not give a dime to a beggar. That is not the issue. The issue is whether you do or do not have the right to exist without giving him that dime. The issue is whether you must keep buying your life, dime by dime, from any beggar who might choose to approach you. The issue is whether the need of others is the first mortgage on your life and the moral purpose of your existence. The issue is whether man is to be regarded as a sacrificial animal. Any man of self-esteem will answer: No. Altruism says: Yes.
I guess this Half-Breed who has gotten to this point through Affirmative Action believes there is no end to the idea of giving away other peoples Money.
A very dangerous and Idiotic Senator ????
Obama = new world order puppet and Soros controls the strings..
Money grows on trees.
Husseinidiot Obama strikes again. No thanks Barry, now go play marbles on the expressway like a good boy.
You can’t call him “boy”. That’s RAYSIS!
For the price of one venti nonfat latte, I mean it’s only 0.7% of the budget, I mean chill y’all, only 49% of you pay taxes anyway.
Obama just wants to use the US as a stepping-stone in order to become the "savior" of the world. He'll try to bleed the US dry - sending billions to "eradicate" world poverty, "eradicate" AIDS, impose world-wide environment regulations - anything to enhance his resume as a world savior.
First step - get the money away from the US military to use in some worldwide pork-barrel scheme.
He'll throw the US under the bus, decrease our standard of living, apologize endlessly for the US - anything to achieve the worldwide adulation he craves.
He wants to be savior of the world.
Spending money in this manner is ok, but yet spending money winning in Iraq is a waste. Go figure. Wait....winning in Iraq would hurt his political chances. Nevermind.
I’m actually glad that this is headed to the Senate floor. Most people don’t know about this and the more publicity it gets, particularly in a time of economic weakness, the better.
And, of course, the Republicans need to be very vocal in their opposition to this. They need to be mentioning how stupid this is in every single interview that they do.
There has always been poverty in the world and always will be. What Obama wants is complete and total socialism around the world.
From the perspective of Obama, every time I pull up to an intersection, and someone is standing there with a bucket or jar, collecting for this cause or that, I should have a legal obligation (not a moral inclination), to toss money in the bucket.
If elected, and allowed to achieve his goals, this maniac will bankrupt America, all for the purpose of getting the people of the world to “like us”.
Be afraid. Be very very afraid.
Wow. That’s generous of him. What’s that? He’s using who’s money?
Okay, everyone better sit down. S.2433 may have Obama's name on it as the sponsor, but in reality it isn't his Bill.
You'll see a recurring name in it as to whom is responsible for this Bill.
George W. Bush, President of the United States.
Yep, over the years Dubya has committed the USA to 'ending global poverty'. And it's all delineated in this Bill with quotes from Dubya and places/meetings where he committed us to this folly.
And the Constitutional authority to spend this money of ours on 3rd world hell holes --- 'National Security'. Per this Bill and Dubya's statements quoted in it, Global Poverty leads to terrorism and fighting that is his purview as CIC.
So I'm sorry to say, in this case it is, 'Bush's Fault'.
(It's not along Bill everyone should read it and weep)
I'm now going to bathe in lye for 'defending' Obama.
So far as I can see, Obama would not have much trouble qualifing for the Anti-Christ. I thought something was fishy when I saw girls swooning at his feet. Obama was mentored by one of Satan’s own, Jeremiah Wright. They see the destruction of America just in sight.
This is a scarey bill. Aside from being an enormous amount of money over and above the amount we already provide for aid and assistance, in its original form, it also gives the U.N. the authority to collect the money from the taxpayer, administer our money to “fight global poverty” and also allows the U.N. to authorize a global gunban... under this bill the U.N. can disarm us. This must not pass.
Thanks for the post. I think I will pick up that book. I think it is fair to say that Ayn Rand is a purist (which sometimes doesn't allow enough give-and-take) but of the minimal amount that I have read she always made me think.
