And, yet, the South Florida GOP doesn't see it that way. This year's surprise in Palm Beach County is that local Republican officials, some of whom are also presiding over more competitive races, believe their candidate is not a laughingstock but the marquee Republican of the year--that he is not a symptom of what ails the national GOP but a possible cure.
Palm Beach County Republican Chairman Sid Dinerstein, a gregarious operative whose official bio recounts his receipt of Lefferts Junior High School's "Most Popular Boy" award, insists that as voters learn more about West's "Taji incident"--as West's spokesman delicately calls it--they'll begin to see it not as an echo of Abu Ghraib but as a neat parable about the dangers of creeping liberalism. An egghead who reads medieval Muslim history and the anti-socialist French thinker Frederic Bastiat in his spare time, West was on track for a generalship when his unit was assigned in August 2003 to interrogate an Iraqi policeman who had supposedly turned Benedict Arnold. The policeman refused to cooperate, so West dragged him outside, pushed his head into the sand, and fired a gun next to his face to get him to sing. "I'd do it again if I had to," West tells me over tea and a doughnut in Plantation, Florida. "It wasn't torture. Seeing Rosie O'Donnell naked would be torture."

Allen West’s credibility rises enormously with this attack by the execrable TNR (as if his credibility needed any boosting). What’s next, an attack from The Nation. LOL.
To think TNR spent the time and resources to go out of their way to attack Col. West speaks volumes about how he’s viewed by the left: a serious threat.
Meanwhile we have members of Congress that don't live in their districts, others that take bribes, and others that receive outrageous financing on real estate. The difference is that they all claim they did nothing wrong.
Also not mentioned in the article is Col. West’s response during his trial, when asked if he would do it again he said:
“If it is about the safety and lives of my Men...I would go through hell with a gasoline can”
I can’t make sense of the title. But, whatever....

The GOP continues to ignore Allen West. He is too traditionally conservative for them, and they continue to refuse to help him out financially in his run for Congress. Their treatment of him is a barometer of which direction the GOP is heading. They give us RINO McCain, who most people in the Republican party will be voting for simply because Obama terrifies the hell out of them, and they ignore helping TRUE conservatives like West. They are throwing him under the bus because he isn't "one of them" (a milquetoast, weak kneed, weenie Rino).

Heheh. I was just giving those idiots a taste of their own medicine. Apparently, to them, any attack on Obama, no matter how justified, is a “racial” attack, yet they seem to have no qualms at all about attacking another black man, a TRULY GREAT AMERICAN, since his ideology is different from their ideology. They are shameless hypocrites of the highest order, and their hypocrisy needs to be flung back in their faces whenever possible.

Okay. The district’s Republicans like West but the NRC is doing its usual coward thing when it comes to conservatives.... Which is why my checkbook has remained closed for two years - - you wouldn’t believe all the GOP junk mail I throw away every week.
I was sitting about 40 feet from that despicable Eve lady at a West speech. He was extremely graceful to her, even when she had her cell phone blare in middle of his speech. But she started scribbling like mad when the Pres. of that GOP club made a joking remark she thought she could twist. She is truly a disgrace to the magazine and will be the subject of much fodder in the coming week.

Though in California, I hereby cast my vote, and encourage all right-thinking Californians to do the same, for LTC West as rep for the 22nd in Florida, and demand that the vote count.
If folks in Florida can cast votes legally for Maryland Congressman Bob Wexler, then I’m entitled to the same right.
